  20. Setting LASTDRIVE
  21.  
  22. LASTDRIVE is a DOS command which is executed at boot time from
  23. the CONFIG.SYS file.  The NetWare Lite NET utility uses LASTDRIVE
  24. to identify valid drives and provide compatibilty with other
  25. NetWare products.  The installation programs default value of
  26. LASTDRIVE=M: should work for most situations.  If you wish to use
  27. a value other than M: be aware that LASTDRIVE should be set to G:
  28. or greater for NET to run.  LASTDRIVE is set by including a
  29. command such as "LASTDRIVE=G:" in CONFIG.SYS.  If you attempt to
  30. run NET with LASTDRIVE set lower than G:, or not set, you will
  31. have to increase the value of LASTDRIVE and reboot before any NET
  32. command can be executed.

  34. When LASTDRIVE is set to F: network directories can be mapped to
  35. any drive letter up to LASTDRIVE (except C: if SERVER is loaded). 
  36. However, F: must be mapped in order to map D: or E:.  If the
  37. situation occurs where D: or E: is mapped and F: is not mapped,
  38. the LASTDRIVE error message will result upon execution of the
  39. next NET command.  To avoid this problem set LASTDRIVE to G: or
  40. greater.
