  1. This archive contains the Microsoft LAN Manager 2.0 NDIS drivers
  2. for DOS and OS/2 machines for the Novell/Anthem NE1000 ethernet
  3. adapter. These are Microsoft drivers, and are provided here
  4. strictly as a convenience for 3+Open 1.1 users. In case of
  5. problems using this adapter, you should contact Microsoft.

  7. Two archive files are contained within this file, one each for
  8. DOS and OS/2 configurations. You may choose to install the DOS
  9. drivers alone, the OS/2 drivers alone, or both sets of drivers.

  11. To install the DOS drivers:
  12.     a) Extract the contents of the DOS.ZIP file.
  13.     b) Copy the file named PROTOCOL.3CM to your 3+Open 1.1
  14.        server's \3OPEN\DOSDRV subdirectory. Copy the NE1000.DOS
  15.        and NE1000.NIF files to your server's \3OPEN\DOSDRV\MAC
  16.        subdirectory.
  17.     c) If you have more than ten .NIF files already in the
  18.        server's \3OPEN\DOSDRV\MAC subdirectory, you will
  19.        need to delete or rename one or more of them, or the
  20.        NE1000 will not appear on the list of adapters within
  21.        NETSETUP. The 3+Open 1.1 NETSETUP program can only display
  22.        up to ten adapter names.
  23.     d) Run NETSETUP to create your DOS workstation configuration.
  24.     e) Read the Microsoft README.TXT file for details on further
  25.        tuning of this adapter.

  28.     a) Extract the contents of the OS2.ZIP file.
  29.     b) Copy the file named PROTOCOL.3CM to your 3+Open 1.1
  30.        server's \3OPEN\OS2DRV subdirectory. Copy the NE1000.OS2
  31.        and NE1000.NIF files to your server's \3OPEN\OS2DRV\MAC
  32.        subdirectory.
  33.     c) If you have more than ten .NIF files already in the
  34.        server's \3OPEN\OS2DRV\MAC subdirectory, you will
