  5. Product Overview
  6. Remotely Possible is a LAN remote control package for NetBIOS or IPX LANs 
  7. that supports both text and graphics mode viewing and controlling of its hosts.  
  8. Remote mouse control of Microsoft Windows 3.0 in all modes and of mouse-
  9. supporting DOS applications is also included.  The host program cannot 
  10. accommodate multiple viewers, but a similar effect can be achieved by running 
  11. both the host and viewer on each PC and "daisy chaining" the connections.  The 
  12. viewer software may be run as a TSR or a DOS application.  Optional password 
  13. security is provided and the host software can be configured to allow viewing 
  14. only.

  17. Test Equipment Configuration
  18. The following machines were used for Remotely Possible testing.  All machines 
  19. have VGA adapters installed and use Artisoft AE-2 NICs.  Testing was 
  20. completed using LANtastic NOS v4.0 with AILANBIO.EXE and AE2.EXE v2.03.  
  21. Machines running as LANtastic peer servers are designated by (S).

  28. Product Installation Notes
  29. If Windows 3.0 support is needed, the recommended method of installing 
  30. Remotely Possible is to run the Windows-based RPSETUP.EXE from the 
  31. product diskette on each host PC.  This will set up the correct drivers for 
  32. remote Windows operation and transfer the software files to the desired 
  33. directory.  Note that after rpsetup is finished, Windows must be exited in order 
  34. to install the host program in memory.  In a DOS only environment, all that is 
  35. necessary is to copy the program files from the product diskette to the PC's 
  36. hard drive, then run a batch file called MAKE_NB.BAT to prepare the software for 
  37. NetBIOS operation.

  40. Product Execution Notes
  41. Remotely Possible consists of two programs, HOST.EXE and VIEWER.EXE.  A 
  42. third program, HOSTMENU.EXE can be used to install the host with a pop up 
  43. menu that allows the host program to initiate connections to viewers.  The host 
  44. program uses about 18K without menus and approximately 44K with the menus. 
  45. The viewer TSR takes 38K of RAM.  Some configuration information is specified 
  46. on the host or viewer command line and detailed configuration is done from a 
  47. "Setup" menu once the software is loaded.  Once the host or viewer software is 
  48. loaded, the menu can be popped up via a user definable hot key (defaults are 
  49. alt-V for a viewer and alt-H for a host).  From the menu, the user has a choice 
  50. of making a remote control connection or entering the detailed configuration 
  51. submenu.  If remote mouse control capability is desired, a mouse driver must be 
  52. installed before running the viewer program.
