  1. Due to changes in the database definition required to support soundex searching,
  2. data files from versions earlier than 3.0 will need to be converted using the
  3. CONVTO30.EXE program included as part of this package.

  5. It would be advisable to back up your data files before doing the conversion to
  6. the new format.  To do this, copy all files with the following extensions to a
  7. floppy disk or to another directory on your hard disk:
  8.                             .DAT    (data files)
  9.                             .K01    (Key files)
  10.                             .K02      "    "
  11.                             .K03      "    "
  12.                             .MEM     (Memo files)

  14. To convert your files, copy the CONVTO30.EXE program to your hard disk in the
  15. same directory as your data files.  Then just type CONVTO30 and press the
  16. "ENTER" key and the files will be automatically converted.

  18. Then you can copy the rest of the new files on to your hard disk and you will be
  19. ready to run the new version of the program.
