- The Virginia Marine Science Museum was established to increase the
- public's knowledge of Virginia's marine environment. Since the Museum
- opened it's doors in 1986 over 1,000,000 people have been introduced to
- Virginia's marine environment. The Museum uses over 100 interactive
- exhibits, educational programs, and aquarium tanks (all types) to provide
- the visitor with a unique, educational and enjoyable experience. The software
- package which you have in your posession is used in the Museum in an
- interactive exhibit.

- Registration fees will be applied to the following areas:
- (not listed in order of importance)
- 1. Administrative costs. (disks, curriculum material etc.)
- 2. Development of additional educational program material and
- software.
- 3. Further development of the software marketing abilities of
- VMSM.
- 4. The Marine Animal Rescue Program.

- The Marine Animal Rescue Program allows the Virginia Marine Science
- Museum to obtain the equipment and resources necessary to respond to
- emergency situations involving marine animals. To date, dolphins, whales,
- birds, sea turtles and seals have benefited from the Museum's fast response
- and tender loving care. The Museum works with other aquariums on the east
- coast to provide sick or wounded marine animals with medical care and shelter
- during their rehabilitation period. In the past, the funds have also
- provided the Museum with satellite transmitters for tracking sea turtles
- and providing valuable research data.
