  5. These are the listings from the December/January 1990 issue of
  6. PC TECHNIQUES, Volume 1, #5.
  7.  
  8. Two files related to the issue are present on this disk, but
  9. were *not* printed in the issue itself:
  10.  
  11. SILVTEST.C is a sample program using the SilverComm Asynch Library,
  12. which was the subject of the Critique on Page 74.
  13.  
  14. COMM_PP.ASM is the assembly-language code from the article "Extendible
  15. Serial Port Objects", which was not printed in the magazine due to space
  16. limitations.

  19. PC TECHNIQUES SUBSCRIPTION INFORMATION
  20.  
  21. Subscription rates are $21.95 per year (6 issues) in the US; $29.95
  22. per year to Canada (in US funds) and $39.95 overseas, again in US funds
  23. drawn on a US bank.  Two year subscriptions are available for $37.95
  24. in the US; $53.95 to Canada, and $73.95 overseas. (A $63.95 rate
  25. published for two-year overseas subs is incorrect.)  We accept personal
  26. and company checks, money orders, and Visa and Mastercard.  Also note
  27. that overseas and Canada subscriptions should be paid for in US funds
  28. drawn on a US bank.  Otherwise, currency conversion and foreign bank
  29. collection fees can amount to as much as $20, which obviously won't
  30. work out for a $20 or $30 subscription.

  35. We place *no* restrictions on the distribution or use of the source code
  36. published in the magazine.  Please add it to your user group library or
  37. BBS file archives.  Pass it along to your friends.  Make sure that anyone
  38. who might conceivably find the code useful will get it.

  40. And we want your HAX!  You don't have to be a published writer.  You just
  41. have to get your concept down as best you can in short form, along with
  42. small amounts of code.  Think small!  HAX should fit on a single magazine
  43. page.  You shouldn't send more than 50 or so lines of code with a HAX, nor
  44. more than 400 or 500 words.  We pay $25 for each one we publish.
