  1. National Information Services Corporation (NISC), and Geosystems of the
  2. United Kingdom are pleased to announce their agreement to produce the
  3. GeoArchive database as a NISC DISC publication. The CD-ROM will be updated
  4. semi-annually not only with current data from GeoArchive but also with
  5. other relevant materials that complement this important research tool
  6. thereby expanding coverage well beyond the online version of the file. The
  7. first CD-ROM issue features over 675,000 records, which occupy some seven
  8. feet of shelf space in print format. The disc will be available for
  9. distribution in January, 1992.

  11. GeoArchive is a worldwide geoscience and hydroscience database which is
  12. used to reference thousands of published sources including maps, serials,
  13. books, conference proceedings, doctoral dissertations, and technical
  14. reports. Over 60,000 bibliographic citations are added each year from
  15. thousands of sources and publishers of monographic materials worldwide.
  16. Comprehensive in scope, this database provides coverage of the entire
  17. field of geology with a special emphasis on economic geology, mining,
  18. mineral and petroleum production and resources, the environment, energy
  19. sources, fossil fuels, paleontology, hydrology, hydrogeology, engineering
  20. geology, mathematical geology, geophysics, geochemistry, oceanology, and
  21. the names of new minerals, taxa, and new stratigraphic names.

  24. publications: Geotides. Bibliography of Economic Geology, Geoscience
  25. Documentation, and Hydrotitles. The GeoArchive thesaurus Geosaurus is also

  27. medium with the powerful NISC software, copies of many source documents
  28. cited can be obtained at cost from Geosystems.
