  1. HUNTSVILLE, Ala., May 1,1992 - Intergraph Corporation today announced the
  2. release of MicroStation Review. This addition to the MicroStation family
  3. addresses the need of many MicroStation users to extend the access to
  4. computer-aided design (CAD) drawings to project team members--even those
  5. with no CAD expertise.

  7. As an integral pan of the design and drafting process, MicroStation Review
  8. provides instant access to CAD data on the network. Project managers,
  9. drawing checkers, and others can view, redline, print, and plot current
  10. design information across a network. MicroStation Review offers users a
  11. high level of work group interaction without the cost of a full CAD seat.
  12. It dramatically reduces expensive hard-copy iteration and streamlines
  13. editing and revision cycles.

  15. Comprehensive redlining provides a means to communicate revision
  16. information to the original designers. Redlining features include
  17. annotation, notes, and the ability to specify areas for change. Because
  18. MicroStation Review makes use of MicroStation's reference file
  19. capabilities, this information does not affect the original drawing,
  20. ensuring data integrity. The user has full access to MicroStation's 2D and
  21. 3D files and all associated reference files including rendering for
  22. interference checking and presentations, database review for instant
  23. access to current information, and check plot generation.

  25. Users can customize MicroStation Review via MicroStation Development
  26. Environment (MDE) applications created under a full MicroStation license.
  27. These applications are limited to view-only functionality.

  31. MicroStation Review will be available May 30 for Intergraph workstations,
  32. personal computers and compatibles, Sun SPARCstations, and Hewlett-Packard
  33. Series 700 workstations. The PC version of MicroStation Review requires a
  34. 386 or more powerful PC, but no math coprocessor. Laser and dot matrix
  35. printers are supported. Installation and documentation are designed to
  36. make MicroStation Review easy for the users without CAD experience to
  37. learn and use. The U.S. suggested retail price of MicroStation Review is
  38. $795
