  1. ANAHEIM, Calif., April 03, 1992 -- ISICAD, Inc., the leading innovator and

  3. signed a joint development agreement with Cabletron to integrate ISICAD's
  4. COMMAND software for Physical Network Management with Cabletron's Spectrum
  5. network management software package.

  7. This strategic alliance further establishes Physical Network Management as
  8. an essential tool in managing growing networks and underscores the rise of
  9. Physical Network Management as one of the key strategic issues for
  10. communications and network management in the 1990s and beyond.

  13. explained, "Physical Network Management addresses the increasing
  14. complexities of LAN and WAN internetworking. Users must have advanced
  15. tools to more effectively manage physical network connectivity."

  17. Robbins added that "the announced direction of integrating ISICAD's COMMAND
  18. offering with Cabletron's Spectrum platform takes advantage of an
  19. attractive Physical Network Management software tool in concert with a
  20. powerful network management software platform. We believe that this

  22. fast-growing, multi-vendor, enterprise-wide networks."

  30. The alliance between ISICAD and Cabletron is the second such announced
  31. association for the company. ISICAD has also consummated a joint agreement
  32. with Hewlett-Packard Company to integrate COMMAND Physical Network
  33. Management software with HP OpenView Network Node Manager.

  35. "These and other vendors are taking advantage of ISICAD's standard COMMAND
  36. APIs to integrate pieces of the solution with COMMAND for a comprehensive
  37. network management solution," said Upp.

  39. This growing trend toward the adoption of Physical Network Management is
  40. further illustrated by the number of companies implementing and utilizing
  41. COMMAND to enhance network design and management. ISICAD's customer base
  42. worldwide includes such notable companies as General Electric, Shearson
  43. Lehman Hutton, Bell Cellular, JP Morgan Bank and National Power.

  45. COMMAND documents and tracks the physical assets of a network, such as the
  46. location of computers, hubs, telephones, switches and other devices within
  47. a building, as well as the connectivity between those devices.
