  2. Solutions will be exhibiting the complete range of RASTEREX products on
  3. Booth 2835 at the A/E/C Systems Show, June 9-11, 1992 in Dallas, Texas.
  4. Three new/updated products will be introduced at the show.

  6. RASTEREX TRACER Board -- New Product
  7.  
  8. Designed for fast visualizations and 3D performance solutions, Tracer is a
  9. TMS34020 based graphics board with standard utilization of full 32-bit
  10. floating point image manipulation. Options include the ability to upgrade
  11. to very large memory capacities to accommodate complex real-time
  12. processing of 3D graphics entities.

  14. "The RASTEREX Tracer board provides a new level of performance for fast
  15. interactive 3D graphics," says Darrell Knight, president of Expert
  16. Graphics, Inc. "Like all RASTEREX boards, Tracer will enhance the
  17. functionality of AutoCAD for dedicated users by providing overall
  18. improvement in speed, as well as maneuverability in overlay functions such
  19. as Spyglass and Bird's-Eye-View. For example, the user will be able to
  20. display a Bird's-Eye-View while panning and zooming." Tracer offers high
  21. resolution, 1280 x 1024 at 72Hz.

  23. More importantly, Tracer, with it's on-board co-processor, has the
  24. capability of handling future 3D applications. Its way of communicating
  25. with the PC is so flexible that it will enable parallel processing, and
  26. thus access to the faster PCs of today and tomorrow. Tracer will
  27. significantly increase the speed of all Windows applications. It can be
  28. upgraded to 16MB DRAM which will allow the user to work with very large
  29. drawings. Tracer will run all RASTEREX software including AutoIcon, RxEDM
  30. and RxImage.

  32. RxEDM -- New Version
  33.  
  34. A new version of RxEDM (Engineering Drawing Management) will be introduced,
  35. which will incorporate retrieving and redlining of documents ("A" size or
  36. FAX type, as well as engineering drawings.) Users will be able to add
  37. links to CAD or scanned drawings, enabling associated documents to be
  38. retrieved and viewed as one retrieves a drawing. For greater flexibility
  39. in developing a custom database front-end, and to add increased supervisor
  40. control, this new version will include: a new screen painter program,
  41. multiple configurable user screens for different user access to the same
  42. database, and extended DBF access.

  44. This new development will take RxEDM from being a drawing management system
  45. to an intelligent company-wide information database.

  47. RxVECTORY -- New Version
  48.  
  49. RxVectory is an automatic raster to vector convertor program, which allows
  50. scanned drawings to be converted automatically to CAD-compatible DXB or
  51. DXF files. Tools include raster processing for splitting merged lines;
  52. arc, line, circle, and polyline entity recognition; and the ability to
  53. assign multiple layers far easy AutoCAD integration. Most importantly, the
  54. primary capability in version 2.0 includes optical character recognition
  55. (OCR), for faster integration of text information into a CAD environment.
