  1. LAGUNA HILLS, CA, March 13, 1992 -- Network Software Associates, Inc.
  2. (NSA), a leading supplier of connectivity software and hardware products
  3. for IBM Personal Computers (PCs), today formally announced the formation
  4. of a new division, the Commercial Products Division, and a new business
  5. unit, the Products Business Unit.

  7. The Commercial Products Division (CPD) will be responsible for developing,
  8. marketing and supporting the company's complete line of packaged software
  9. and hardware connectivity products for the commercial marketplace. These
  10. products include the Elite and AdaptSNA software families for PC-to-PC,
  11. PC-to-mainframe and Local Area Network (LAN)-to-mainframe connectivity.

  13. "The bulk of our current commercial business activities and departments
  14. have now been placed under the banner of the Commercial Products
  15. Division," said NSA President Zak Kong.

  17. The new Special Products Business Unit (SPBU) will now be responsible for
  18. the company's ongoing contracted software development services and
  19. specialized connectivity solutions. NSA has been supplying custom
  20. applications services since 1980.

  22. In addition to these two new groups, the company has been operating its
  23. Federal Systems Division (FSD) since 1988 out of Washington, DC. FSD
  24. markets NSA products and applications services to Federal Government
  25. departments and agencies.

  27. "This new divisional structure formalizes the direction the company has
  28. been heading over the past few years," said NSA Chairman Earl D. Jacobs.
  29. "The formal structure has now been put in place to help us reach our
  30. longer range objectives and to provide clearer goals for each operating
  31. unit of the company."
