  1. March 1992 -- Computer Innovations announces the immediate availability of
  2. FlexeLint Version 5.0, a C source code analysis tool that aids programmers
  3. in developing higher quality software. FlexeLint analyzes C programs and
  4. reports on bugs, glitches, inconsistencies. Multi-module processing is
  5. extensive, and it finds problems that a compiler would miss.

  7. FlexeLint Version 5.0 by Gimpel Software is the latest in state-of-the-art
  8. source code analysis, and is now supported by Computer Innovations for
  9. specific UNIX environments.

  11. New features include Strong Type checking, which is a user-controllable
  12. analysis based on (\bold typedef} types, which enforces a typing
  13. discipline already maintained "by hand" by many developers. Control-flow
  14. based analysis will report on possibly uninitialized variables. The
  15. analysis takes into account all C control structures, as well as
  16. properties of system functions such as {\bold free} and {\bold exit} and
  17. user-defined equivalents.

  20. addition, UNIX programmers converting from K&R C to ANSI C will enjoy
  21. FlexeLint's automatic ANSI prototype generation facility, which aids in
