- Thank for you downloading Carrier Detect!
-
- Starting with the September 1991 issue the text version and the door
- versions will be distributed in the same archive for simplicity.
-
- The text edition of Carrier Detect is named CD01SEPT.DOC. It is a
- regular ASCII file and can be printed on your printer if you desire.
-
- The door edition of Carrier Detect, intended for use by sysops
- running the Carrier Detect Reader Door, consists of two files,
- DOFIRST.CDX and CD01SEPT.CDX. To add the September articles to
- your CDR-Door just copy these two files to the door's directory.
- Note that you must overwrite the existing DOFIRST.CDX for the door
- to operate properly.

- Attention : CDR-Door Version 1.11 Bug Alert
-
- Some of the articles in the Nov 1991 Carrier Detect are much
- longer than in previous issues. As it is, this has led to the
- discovery of a minor bug in the CDR-Door. The current version
- of the Carrier Detect Reader Door is unable to process some of
- the longer articles in their entirety. The door will operate as
- before but you may notice that a few of the new articles from this
- issue appear garbled near the end. No harm is done, but callers
- will be unable to read the conclusions of the affected articles.
-
- Scott Baker and myself are working on a fix to this problem and
- will make it available as soon as possible. In the meantime the
- complete articles can be viewed by using the Carrier Detect Local
- Reader, or from the standard ASCII file enclosed.
-
- Thank you for your patience, understanding and support!
-
- IMPORTANT NOTE - 11/13/91
-
- A new version of the CDR-Door and Local Reader was released
- today that fixes the bugs mentioned above. In the process of
- fixing the bug a new improved .CDX format was developed that
- will be used starting with this issue (.CDX revision 1).
-
- As a result, if you are running CDR-door Version 1.11 or Local
- Reader V1.00 you must upgrade to the Version 1.20 of both in
- order to view this and all future issues.
-
- While the new CDR-Door and Local Reader are backwards compatible
- and will read the original .CDX files, the old issues have been
- coverted to the new format to maintain consistancy and save disk
- space (since they compress much better now). I would encourage
- all sysops offering Carrier Detect available for download to
- obtain the new converted archives of old issues to help
- standardize on the new format.
-
- Carrier Detect related files can be FREQed from me at 1:300/28
- with these magic words at 9600 V.32 (soon to be 14.4) speeds.
-
- ALLISSUE - All issues of Carrier Detect to date (This would get
- you all the newly recompiled .CDX files)
-
- CDRDOOR - Latest version of the Carrier Detect Door
-
- CDLREAD - Latest version of the Carrier Detect Local Reader
-
- CARRIER - Latest issue of Carrier Detect

- 296-2248 and Download these files on your first call!
-
-
- IMPORTANT NOTE - 11/13/91
-
- This .CDX files included in this distribution archive have been
- coverted to the .CDX Revision 1 format to reduce the archive size
- considerable. In order to view the .CDX files with the CDR-Door or
- the Local Reader you must be using version 1.20 or later of both.
