- AN OVERVIEW
-
-
-
- What is Colour Snap?
-
- Colour Snap is a PC based Colour Printing Package. It enables
- you to print the currently displayed screen on a PC attached
- colour 24 Pin Matrix Printer.
-
- Many different printing capabilities and options are possible
- within Colour Snap, such as printing an enlarged screen image,
- landscape or portrait orientation output, changing the printed
- colour of a particular screen colour, selection of the printed
- background colour and many more.
-
- Memory Resident
-
- Colour Snap comprises two programs, CSNAP the printing program,
- and CSCFG the configuration program.
- Colour Snap is a memory resident program which is loaded into
- the computers memory after switching on, usually before any of
- your normal applications are run, by typing:
-
- CSNAP
-
- The command may be included in any startup routine batch files.
- After loading, the Colour Snap display indicates the current
- printer selected and the keystroke(s) required to print the
- displayed screen. The normal DOS command line is then shown,
- and your usual applications may be run.
-
- To Print
-
- To print any application screen, simply press the "Ctrl"
- key twice. The keys used to print may be changed if desired
- using the configuration options.
-
- Configuration
-
- The most popular options are set up within the program as
- default values. The default values may be changed temporarily,
- and the different options possible may be selected by changing
- the default settings using the configuration program "CSCFG".
-
- Different configuration files may be created and saved to
- cater for printing different screen applications or
- configurations, different printer types and ports, or
- different VDU modes. (ie. EGA, Text, CGA etc).

- Installing Colour Snap
-
- The following installation procedures contain the instructions for
- setting up the Colour Snap programs for Floppy Disk or Hard Disk
- operation.
-
- Floppy Disk System
-
- Format one (1) floppy disk
-
- Insert the Colour Snap Shareware Disk into Drive A, and a newly
- formatted diskette into drive B. At the DOS prompt, enter the
- following commands:
-
- A> COPY CSNAP.EXE B:
- A> COPY CSCFG.EXE B:
-
- These are the two program files necessary to run Colour Snap.
- Once they have been copied to your new working program disk
- in drive B, remove the shareware program disk from drive A and
- store it for safe keeping.
-
- Now place your new working program disk into drive A. The
- installation of the program disk is complete, you are now ready
- to start the program, configure it to your requirements if
- required, and print your colour screens.
-
- Hard Disk System
-
- To run Colour Snap from your Hard Disk, it is suggested that you
- first create a sub-directory for the Colour Snap program files.
- Ensure you are in the root directory of your hard disk:
-
- C> CD\
-
-
-
- Next, create a subdirectory for the Colour Snap program files:
-
- C> MD CSNAP
-
- Go to this new directory:
-
- C> CD CSNAP
-
- Insert the Colour Snap Shareware Disk into Drive A and issue
- the following commands:
-
- C> COPY A:CSNAP.EXE C:
- C> COPY A:CSCFG.EXE C:
-
- These are the program files necessary to run Colour Snap.
- When completed, remove the Shareware Program Disk from drive A,
- and store it for safe keeping. You are now ready to start the
- program, configure it to your requirements if required, and print
- your colour screens.
-
- PRINTER SUPPORT
-
- Colour Snap enables you to print colour screens on 24 pin colour
- printers supplied by:
-
- Epson, IBM, Fujitsu, Star, NEC, Facit, Mannesman Tally, Juki,
- Data Products, C-Itoh and other Epson Colour compatibles.
-
- Ensure that your printer is setup correctly for Epson mode
- either by setting the options via the front panel keys, or via
- its internal or external switches. If in doubt consult your
- manufacturers printer handbook.
- REGISTERED USERS
-
- Colour Snap Version 2.2 is a Shareware Program designed to let users
- enjoy the benefits and features of the registered version and enable
- them to determine that the registered program will meet their needs.
- Although the Colour Snap installation display denotes 'Demo', this
- Shareware version is a fully operational program with the following
- minor differences: A banner is printed as an advertising heading to
- the users screen print for identification purposes - this banner is
- not included in the registered version. Additionally this Shareware
- program defaults to a magnification factor of x 2, and this factor
- is fully configurable in the Registered version. The execution pause
- in CSCFG which occurs if the header is attempted to be removed or
- the magnification changed (a few seconds), is also not in the
- registered version.
-
- How to become a Registered User: Send the registration fee to the address
- below, together with post & handling charges appropriate to your

- menu.
- Options are available to reflect changes within the memory
- resident copy of Colour Snap, and new configurations may be
- stored as disk files. These new configurations may be used
- at any time by keying:
-
- CSNAP Filename
-
- where filename is the name of a previously created

- default settings are applied.

- the desired field, then "+" and "-" keys to change the options
- available within that field.
