  2. PRINTGL DESCRIPTION

  4. PrintGL is a shareware pen plotter emulator for IBM/DOS systems.
  5.  
  6. PrintGL prints an HP-GL (HP Graphics Language - HP 7475, 7440/17440 subsets)
  7. plotfile on a matrix printer. HP-GL is widely supported by graphics programs
  8. including AutoCAD, Generic CADD, MathCAD, SAS, Schema, and many more. PrintGL
  9. has drivers for Epson and IBM compatible 9 pin printers, Epson, IBM, NEC, and
  10. Toshiba compatible 24 pin printers, HP Laserjet, Deskjet, PaintJet, QuietJet,
  11. and plotters, IBM ExecJet, Quietwriter 2/3, and LaserPrinter, Canon LBP and BJ
  12. printers, Kodak Color 4, and PostScript printers. It will also display plots
  13. with a CGA, EGA, VGA, EVGA, or HGC, and output a .PCX or .IMG file.

  15. Even if your graphics program supports your printer, you may find that PrintGL
  16. is faster or gives better print quality. PrintGL uses the best graphics modes
  17. available for each printer that it supports and uses transfer data compression
  18. to improve print speed on many printers. If you need printed graphics output
  19. from personal software, you can output HP-GL and use PrintGL to do the
  20. printing. This gives immediate support to a wide range of printers. And it lets
  21. you use the HP 17440 command set while supporting lower function plotters.
