  1. This file contains the source code for Fractint version 17.2 with 
  2. modifications to make the code compatible with Ken Shirriff's
  3. X windows port (available as xfract*.shar.Z on sprite.berkeley.edu.)
  4.  
  5. The code contained herein *should* (but probably doesn't!) compile to
  6. a version essentially identical to the the official version 17.2 executable.

  8. Use this code as a base for all modifications and contributions to
  9. Fractint - the Fractint development team is using it as the starting
  10. point for version 18. We hope to keep the UNIX and PC versions synchronized
  11. in the future.
