  1. What is new in this package of 6 gifutilities

  3. GDIR now also shows the information of the GIFLITE header being present or not
  4. in a GIF file. In this way you don't need the program CHK4GLTE anymore.
  5. I've included CHK4GLTE anyway for those of you who only want to know whether
  6. a GIF file contains the GIFLITE header and need no further information about
  7. a GIF file.

  9. GIFPALET shows the palette on the screen that is used in the specified GIF file
  10. and lets you choose a background color for the GIF file by means of the mouse.
  11. So, actually the program GIFBGRND is now integrated in the program GIFPALET.
  12. To pick a color just click on the color you want. The top left pixel of the
  13. cursor is the HotSpot (the color under this pixel will be chosen).
  14. The mouse cursor moves a bit jumpy, this is because mouse drivers do not yet
  15. support 640 x 480 x 256 and up modes, so I had to use TurboPascal's
  16. GetImage and PutImage procedures in combination with the mouse, and this
  17. results in jumps of 8 pixels each time the cursor moves.
