- VGA90 is part of the VGAFontMax package. If you continue to use
- VGA90, you are expected to send in the registration form and fee
- for the VGAFontMax package. Thank you for your support.

- ═══════ INSTRUCTIONS ═══════════════════════════════════════════
-
-
- VGA90 is a tiny utility that lets you switch your standard IBM
- VGA display (and most third-party VGA and SuperVGA boards) into
- an undocumented 90-column mode. On some multisync monitors you
- may have to re-center the image after switching into or out of
- the 90-column mode. The standard IBM VGA monitor has trouble
- displaying the leftmost column of the screen, although the rest
- of the screen is displayed normally.
-
- To see how to use VGA90, just type "VGA90 /?" at the DOS command
- prompt. It will print out a short description of how to use
- VGA90.
-
- To switch into 90-column mode, type "VGA90 /ON" or just "VGA90"
- at the DOS command prompt. To switch back, type "VGA90 /OFF".
- The "on" and "off" commands may be shortened to "VGA90 O" and
- "VGA90 F", if desired.
-
- VGA90 works by temporarily reprogramming the VGA board to
- display 8-bit wide characters instead of the normal 9-bit wide
- characters. Please note that many older applications (and
- unfortunately, many of the newer ones, too) do not support
- 90-column displays. If a program does not support the 90-column
- display, the screen will appear to be sliced up and shifted
- around slightly.
-
- Here is a list of some programs that are known to support
- 90-column (and higher) modes:
-
- QEdit (from SemWare)
- List (by Vernon Buerg)
-
- Here are some that do NOT support 90-column (or higher) modes:
-
- ProComm Plus (from DataStorm)
- Norton Utilities (from Peter Norton Computing)
- Microsoft Word
- SpinRite II (from Gibson Research)
- XTree Pro Gold (from Executive Systems)

- I hope you find VGA90 and the VGAFontMax package useful. Please
- feel free to write and make suggestions, complaints, or
- compliments.
