  1. This is a text file that has been around for a while.  Pretty childish
  2. whoever thinks this is such a great hack.  But it is something to be
  3. aware of.  It's really simple to defeat, actually if anyone even used
  4. this it really wouldn't damage your system, so don't worry about it
  5. too much.  You can either stop it by the way he mentions below or you
  6. might just simply look out for the information as it is entered here.

  47.            There may be text files on this but they are all out-dated and
  48.         just plain old so I'm writing this one to make users and even a few
  49.         sysops (if they read this) aware of a very easy hack in telegard 2.7.
  50.         This is not a hack that will drop you to DOS so you can fuck up the
  51.         sysop of that BBS. This is really just a simple hack that will give
  52.         you the sysop-defined auto validation settings.  (That way you don't 
  53.         have to wait for the SysOp to validate you)  Its also pretty simple 
  54.         too.

  58.         The first thing I must mention is that this does work but you will
  59.         not see anything till the message bases are packed.

  61.         ok the first thing you'll see is the 
  62.         Enter user name:
  63.         (put anything here you want)

  65.         enter real name:
  66.         (put your real name here... J/K)

  68.         ok, next comes the tricky part.  You'll see something like this:
  69.          enter the country your calling from:
  70.            1. United States
  71.            2. Canada
  72.            3. Other <---- pick this one!

  74.          after you pick #3 youll get a space to put in an address,
  75.          city/state and phone number... put this in the spaces:
  76.            Address: Western Hemisphere N. American  <-- "ican" not America
  77.            City   : Planet Earth
  78.            State  : Sol Solar System
  79.            Zip    : GALMILKWAY
  80.            Phone  : 7777777777 <-- no dashes

  82.         and then, pick computer number 10 no matter what it is.

  84.         Eveything else is done...  oh for the sysop letter you might want to 
  85.         say something like:

  89.         Anyway that's about it... The telegard 2.7 hack, this hack has been 
  90.         there before but it was taken out of telegard and then brought back in.

  92.         Oh and all those little PKUNZIP and stuff they have all been fixed.

  95.       So... How do you sysops out there defend aginst it?  Kill the Auto- 
  96.       Validation settings... Put em all 0 and give them all the restrictions...
