- {C3MAIN Command A - Answer Questionnaires.{C2
-
- This command takes you to the Questionnaire System. "Questionnaires" may be
- available that ask for your input on many different and varied topics. It is
- also possible that the SYSOP does not have any questionnaires for users. In
- this case just press {C3[ENTER]{C2 to return to the Main Menu.
-
- Questionnaires can take many forms. Some may ask for your opinion to current
- events. Some may gather statistical data. Some may even be used to grant you
- access to certain RBBS-PC functions.
-
- When you select the Answer Questionnaires command, RBBS-PC will display a list
- of questionnaires available. Type in the name of the questionnaire you wish to
- answer, and follow the instructions on the screen.
-
- {C4TIPS:{C2
- 1. If you know the name of the questionnaire you wish to use, you may stack
- the name on the command line. E.g. "{C3A OPINION{C2" will start the questionnaire
- named OPINION.

- {C3MAIN Command C - Comment to SYSOP{C2
-
- This command will allow you to send a brief message to the RBBS-PC SYSOP. Only
- the SYSOP can read messages entered by the "{C3C{C2" command. Comments are much
- easier for a SYSOP to reply to if they are regular messages, so if you want a
- reply, use the "Enter Message" command instead.
-
- Press {C3[Enter]{C2 on a blank line when you finish typing your comment. This will
- bring up the editor command line. You must issue the "{C3S{C2" or {C3S{C2)ave command if
- you want your comment to be sent to the Sysop.
-
- {C4TIPS:{C2
- 1. RBBS-PC provides you with two additional ways of contacting the SYSOP. You
- can use the {C3E{C2)nter command to leave a message or you can page the SYSOP by
- using the {C3O{C2)perator command.
-
- 2. Most SYSOPs are eager to know how you feel about their bulletin boards. You
- can use the {C3C{C2)omment command to leave private comments to the SYSOP. If you
- want to allow others to read you comments, perhaps to stimulate discussion,
- leave a public message instead.

- {C3MAIN Command D - Doors.{C2
-
- This command takes you to the Door System. "Doors" are applications external to
- RBBS-PC that a SYSOP allows callers to run remotely. RBBS-PC acts as a
- "gateway" or "door" to other programs.
-
- A "door" can be any application (i.e. on-line product ordering, games, data
- bases, BBS message utilities, etc.).
-
- Some doors require ANSI screen support, so read any information about the door
- carefully. You may also find that door access is restricted for the first few
- minutes of each session. This is so you will use other RBBS-PC features, such
- as reading and entering messages before you spend time in the door.
-
- {C3MAIN Command I - Initial Welcome{C2
-
- This command redisplays the welcome screen that you saw when you logged on
- RBBS-PC. Sometimes this screen had information you might decide you need, such
- as a voice number for calling the SYSOP.
-

- {M! STOP

- {C3MAIN Function J - Join Conference{C2
-
- This command provides you access to RBBS-PC's Conferences and Sub-Boards. A
- Conference is a separate message area, usually focused on a single topic. A
- Sub-Board is an entire BBS within the main BBS, with its own message base, file
- catalogs, and possibly even a different SYSOP. However, the Join command works
- the same for Conferences and Sub-Boards.
-
- You will be presented with a list of conferences after you enter the "{C3J{C2"
- command. You can then type in the name of the conference you wish to join, or
- press {C3L{C2)ist to get the list again. Press {C3[ENTER]{C2 to exit the conference command.
-
- {C4TIPS:{C2
- 1. RBBS-PC offers both public and private teleconferencing capabilities.
- Private conferences and Sub-Boards will have unique entry requirements
- which you will have to meet before being allowed to join.
-
- 2. To go from any conference back to the MAIN message area, use the QUIT
- CONFERNECE ({C3Q C{C2) command, or use the JOIN command to join the MAIN
- Conference ({C3J M{C2).

- {09
- {ON 09
- {==STOP
- {END
- {M! STOP
- {END ON
- {*B
- 3. You can go directly from the Main Menu into a conference by entering "{C3J{C2" and
- the conference name. For example, you could enter the "GAMES" conference
- with the following command: "{C3J GAMES{C2".
-
- 4. You will not see a list of available conferences if you enter the Conference
- System while in the Expert Mode. Enter an "{C3L{C2" to get the conference list.
-
- 5. You can perform a valuable service by using the comment or message functions
- to suggest teleconference topics to the SYSOP.
-
- {C3MAIN Command O - Operator page{C2
-
- This command pages the SYSOP, so you can chat directly with him. The "{C3O{C2"
- command sounds the speaker on the SYSOP's computer for 30 seconds. A Sysop
- hearing the page can initiate CHAT mode.
-
- {C4TIPS:{C2
- 1. Leave a {C3C{C2)omment or {C3E{C2)nter a message for the SYSOP if a page is
- unsuccessful.
-
- 2. Since this command makes noise on the SYSOP's computer, use good judgment
- when using it ({C4especially late at night!{C2).
-
- {END
- {*0{C1Press RETURN to continue, {C4{FN {C2
- {09
- {ON 09
- {==STOP
- {END
- {M! STOP
- {END ON
- {*B
- 3. The Sysop can see your Page request on screen for the remainder of your
- session, so the Sysop may answer the page even though the initial attempt
- fails.
-
- {C3MAIN Command W - Who else is on?{C2
-
- This command tells you who else is currently using this RBBS-PC system. Some
- RBBS-PC systems can support up to 36 callers at once. If so, you will see the
- name of callers who are currently logged on.
-
- {C4TIPS:{C2
- 1. If there is only one node on the system, RBBS-PC will display your name.
-
- 2. RBBS-PC will list the last caller on each node. The call will be listed as
- "active" if the caller is still connected.
-
- This concludes this tutorial on Miscellaneous functions. Please feel free to
- direct any questions to the Sysop.
