  1. Library function V - Verbose File List
  2.  
  3. This command displays a list of files contianed within a compressed file.
  4. You will be prompted for the file names that you wish to view when you
  5. issue the "V" command.  Type the desired names, separated by spaces.  If
  6. you press [ENTER] without entering a filename, you will return to the
  7. Library Menu.
  8.  
  9. TIPS:
  10. 1.  You can stack the V)iew command with the desired file name.  That is,
  11.     you can enter "V <filename>" directly from the Library Menu.  For
  12.     example, you could type "V RBBS-PC.ZIP" to view the contents of
  13.     RBBS-PC.ZIP.

  15. 2.  You must only try to View files that are compressed with a supported
  16.     extension.  RBBS-PC supports ZIP, PAK, ARC, and LZH, and the sysop has
  17.     the option to install support for others.  Entering a file with an
  18.     unsupported extension, such as EXE, will return a message stating that
  19.     the view is not implemented for that file.

  21. 3.  V supports only exact matches and not "wildcards".  For example
  22.     "V LIST*.ZIP" will not list LIST60J.ZIP.

  24. 4.  Your Sysop may optionally allow you to "peek" at files within the
  25.     compressed file.  This will allow you to "browse" text files before
  26.     downloading the compressed file they are in.
