  5. This is the read-me file for RBBS-PC 17.3's executable files.
  6. It should be a part of RBBS-EXE.ZIP, containing the following files:

  8. CONFIG.EXE         Configuration program.  Set up and customize RBBS-PC.
  9. LDFILTER.COM       Used with RBBS-PC when compiled under QB 2.01, with Desqview
  10. RBBS-PC.EXE        Executable program for RBBS-PC.EXE
  11. STDERR.COM         Used with Desqview
  12. WATCHDG1.COM       Utility that reboots when carrier drops.  For COM1 use
  13. WATCHDOG.COM       Utility that reboots when carrier drops.  For COM2 use
  14. WATCHDGS.COM       Utility that reboots when carrier drops.  For PC/SLAVE use
  15. DOC\WATCHDOG.DOC   Documentation for Watchdogs
  16.  
  17. This file part of a larger set of files and should not be
  18. distributed alone.

  20. RBBS-PC Version CPC17.3 is distributed via three mandatory and four
  21. optional standard "ZIP" files.   Two sets of merges are available but
  22. not automatically distributed.

  41. Simply uncompress the first three files and follow the instruction in the
  42. RBBS-PC documentation entitled, "Installing RBBS-PC for the First Time."
  43.  
  44. For those who have never operated an electronic bulletin board before,
  45. we suggest getting Bantam Books' "The Complete Electronic Bulletin Board
  46. Starter Kit" by Charles Bowen and David Peyton (ISBN 0-553-34552-4).
  47. RBBS-PC's documentation is only a "reference" and is not nearly as good
  48. a learning guide for new SYSOP's.  However, the book only covers RBBS-PC
  49. version 15.1C, and therefore does not cover new features.  Version 17.3
  50. is downward compatible with the system files of 15.1C.
