- MAKEKEY.EXE is a program that is used to create a key file for RACE.
- The code you will need to input to MAKEKEY's prompt is provided only
- upon registration of RACE.
-
- Upon my receipt of your registration for RACE I will generate your
- personal code and mail this code to you via netmail if you are in
- FidoNet or U.S. Mail if you are not. Optionally, you may let me know
- that you'd like to log on to my bbs and get the code in a message rather
- than wait for the U.S. Mail to get there.
-
- What you'll receive will look something like this... keep in mind that
- this is merely an example:
-
- Name: John Doe
- Code: A056BN45
-
- When you receive this, write it down or print it out so it's handy
- when you run MAKEKEY.EXE. It would also be a very good idea to write
- this down somewhere and save it in case you trash your key. You can
- then generate a new key at any time.
-
- NOTE: Your "Name:" must appear EXACTLY as it is in the FIRST record
- of USERS.BBS. Upper/lowercase is not important but in all other
- respects it must match exactly. If I did not generate your code
- with your name as it exists in USERS.BBS, the key will NOT work.
- Please contact me ASAP and I will deliver corrected information.
-
-
- Run MAKEKEY.EXE at the dos prompt and answer the name and key code
- prompts with the information I have provided. If you enter the
- information correctly, MAKEKEY.EXE will create a file called RACE.KEY.
- This is a very small file, roughly 43 bytes. Put RACE.KEY in the same
- directory as RACE.EXE and you're done.
-
- RACE will see this key file and the prompt to print a registration
- form at exit will be gone and the following features will be
- enabled:
-
- (1) ALT-E to write a message during <V>alidation.
- (2) ALT-L to display today's callers.
- (3) ALT-U to display users currently online.
- (4) Password protection of <J>ump and <U>tils commands.
-
-
- Thanks once again for your support.
