  1.        These are the flags used in the FLAG field under Auto Point's
  2.        Editing Environment.

  5.        The following flags define special operating conditions:

  36.        NOTE: Many V22 modems also support Bell 212A.

  38.        If no modem flag is given,  Bell 212A is assumed for 1200 bps
  39.        systems,  CCITT V22bis is assumed for 2400 bps systems.

  41.        Aseparate modem capability flag should not be used when it can be
  42.        determined by the modem flag.  For instance, a modem flag of HST
  43.        implies MNP. V32b implies V32 and V42b implies V42. MNP,HST and
  44.        V32,V32b and V42,V42b flag pairs are unnecessary.

  47.        The following flags define the type(s) of compression of mail
  48.        packets supported.

  54.                          NOTE:  The only compression method standard in
  55.                          FidoNet is archiving,  using the standard SEA ARC
  56.                          format,  with archive names defined by the
  57.                          specification for ARCMail 0.6.  The absence of the
  58.                          MN flag indicates that ARCMail 0.6 compression is
  59.                          supported by this node.

  114.        The following flag defines gateways to other domains (networks).

  116.                Flag      Meaning

  118.                Gx..x     Gateway to domain 'x..x',  where 'x..x` is a string
  119.                          of alphanumeric characters.  Valid values for 'x..x'
  120.                          are assigned by the FidoNet International
  121.                          Coordinator.  This flag is not authorized for use by
  122.                          any node unless specifically authorized by the IC or
  123.                          FidoNet Inter-Network Coordinator. Registered
  124.                          domain gateways include:
  125.                          uucp     to be used only by nodes in a list of
  126.                                   authorized fidonet.org sites available at
  127.                                   1:1/31.

  130.        The following flags define the dedicated mail periods supported.
  131.        They have the form "#nn" or !nn where nn is the UTC hour the mail
  132.        period begins,  # indicates Bell 212A compatibility,  and !
  133.        indicates incompatibility with Bell 212A.

  145.                          be strung together with no intervening commas,  eg.
  146.                          "#02#09".  Only mail hours other than that standard
  147.                          within a node's zone should be given.  Since
  148.                          observance of mail hour within one's zone is
  149.                          mandatory,  it should not be indicated.

  152.        The following flag defines user-specific values. If present,  this
  153.        flag MUST be the last flag present in a nodelist entry.

  157.                Ux..x     A user-specified string,  which may contain any
  158.                          alphanumeric character except blanks.  This string
  159.                          may contain one to thirty-two characters of
  160.                          information that may be used to add user-defined
  161.                          data to a specific nodelist entry.  The character "U"
  162.                          should NOT be repeated, eg, "UXXX,YYY" not "UXXX,UYYY".

  164.                          This flag is NOT to be used for advertisements, or
  165.                          non-essential information.  If you have questions
  166.                          concerning the use of this flag, please contact your
