enter "Sport" or "Bossier" will be summarily deleted for bad manners.

00248: Prompt for ANSI (only if fast enough)
Do you want ANSI graphics used in displays sent to you? The look kinda
like this: green cyan
If that looks like garbage, definitely answer No to this question.
If the words green and cyan are, indeed, green and cyan, answer Yes
if you would like the BBS to be able to send you color.
So, do you want ANSI or not? (y/N) ;
00249: Prompt for FSE (only if ANSI is on)
Okay, so you liked the ANSI stuff. Would you like to try for the full
screen ANSI editor as your default text editor? It's a little more
difficult to get used to than the line editor, but it'll be easier to
use after you do get used to it. Generally speaking, if you're really
new to BBSes, answer No to this. If you're an old hand, I recommend
that you answer Yes.
Do you want the full screen editor as the default? (y/N) ;
00250: Prompt for screen clearing (default N=clearing on)
Would you like to suppress screen clearing? In other words, would you
like me _not_ to clear your screen? (Hit [Enter] if unsure) (y/N) ;

00252: Prompt for page pausing (default N=pausing on)
Would you like to suppress pausing after each screen page? I'd think
about this one, since if you have your screen width and length set
correctly, I can stop the display to let you read, then restart it _if_
you answer No to this question. (y/N) ;
00253: Special flag prompt
Are you a Commodore user? (y/N) ;
00254: Handle prompt (do you want one?)
A Handle is a nickname you might use in place of your real name in some
areas. If it's more than one word, you can even log on with it. It
must be unique, just like your Real Name.
Would you like to use a handle (psuedonym, monicker, nickname, nom de
pleume, coup de grace, what the hell ever) instead of your Real Name?

00431: Upload help
Uploading is a little more difficult than downloading. It can be
different on various computers, so this help will be a little
vague...you'll probably find more help in your terminal's documentation
or help screens. Keep in mind, though, that the better the protocol,
the easier the upload! ZModem is probably the best; XModem is the
worst. XModem CRC is better than XModem CheckSum. If all your terminal
has is XModem, it's probably time to find a decent terminal program...
Basically, you select a protocol that your terminal has available, enter
the name of the file you want to send, then when XBBS tells you to go to
SEND mode, start sending the file. You might remember that this is an
MS-DOS system, so filenames should be in accordance with MS-DOS
conventions (up to 8 characters, a period, and up to 3 more characters).
You will not receive credit for uploads for which you gave the wrong
name (and, in fact, they may well be refused completely). Please do -not-
send games unless they are something extremely special. Do not send crap.
You will not be credited for it. If you don't know what crap is, ask the
sysop.
00432: Download help
Downloading is pretty simple. First, you'll need to select a protocol
to use. Some protocols are better than others; if you have ZModem, I'd
use that. XModem Checksum is the -last- thing to pick. Check your
terminal help or documents to see which protocols you have available and
pick one of those.
Next, you'll enter a filename (in most cases). If XBBS tells you
that Wildcards are acceptable, it means the protocol you've chosen can
receive more than one file in a session. Wildcards are the ? and *
characters. If you don't know how wildcards work, you should avoid them
until you've looked it up in your DOS manual.
After selecting a protocol and filename, XBBS will tell you to go to
RECEIVE mode. Remember, when you are downloading, you are receiving a
file from me. Activate the appropriate protocol on your terminal and it
should become automatic.
