  5. 05-29-1992  v1.08:
  6.     There are no longer 1stname/Lastname options when sorting.
  7. They have been replaced with just Name to allow for consistency
  8. when sorting by either Name or Alias (you will be prompted to
  9. choose the first or last name).
  10.     If there is an ACTIVE##.DAT file in the Opus directory
  11. you won't be allowed to Sort or Zap the database.  Added an
  12. indicator to show that a user has a CWF file and an indicator
  13. that shows whether or not you're editing the real user database
  14. or just a copy of it.  First attempt at being multi-tasker
  15. friendly. ;-)  You can now choose which printer port to send
  16. the Report to.  If a user is online, you won't be allowed to
  17. make changes to his/her record.  Added toggle for hiding user
  18. passwords (CTRL-H).  The PATH will be searched for the INI
  19. file if it's not in the current directory or the program
  20. directory.
  21.     I decided to use Ralph Brown's spawno() function to swap
  22. the program out of conventional memory when calling USERNDX,
  23. and when going to the DOS Shell.
  24.     Changed the sort routine to a faster one. (Thanks to Bob
  25. Stout's SNIPPETS file and R. Gardner.)  Fixed the Search to
  26. be case-insensitive.  If you're using the 'LOGON AskReal'
  27. option in your CTL (PRM) file, SFUE17 will display each
  28. persons' Real Name and Alias in the correct fields.
  29. (i.e. The persons' Real Name will be in the Name field and
  30. not in the Alias field).
  31.     Added an option to have an inactivity timer when waiting
  32. for a keypress.  If you have IBM Graphics Translation turned
  33. on then the graphics in the Report will be translated also.
  34. There are two new string input routines (one for BIOS/DIRECT
  35. screen writes, the other for DOS). CTRL-C won't abort the
  36. program anymore.
  37.     Added *detection* of encrypted passwords (via PRM file).
  38. Added IBM Graphics conversion to Normal ASCII characters
  39. (-X on command-line, or CTRL-X to toggle the translation
  40. ON/OFF within the program).  Switched to the Large memory
  41. model to get rid of the 64K Code restriction (which instantly
  42. added about 11K to the program size).  There is now an INI
  43. file that is created in the same directory as SFUE17 that
  44. contains default information.

  47.     Modified the Global change option. Made some screen changes.
  48. Changed the Rmrk (Remark) option to QkInq (QuickInquire) in
  49. ScrnSect 1.  Enhanced the Search option to allow you to modify
  50. records as you go.  After you initially specify a search key,
  51. a new menu option will appear in the lower right-hand corner
  52. section (pressing a zero (0) will continue the previously
  53. selected search).
  54.     SFUE17 will now rename any Custom Welcome Files (CWF's) when
  55. you either sOrt or Zap users so the CWF's always point to the same
  56. user no matter what record number they're moved to.

  60.     If the current record has been modified in any way, there will
  61. be an asterisk placed in the upper right-hand corner of the screen.
  62.     I split the source code into smaller modules and made some minor
  63. code changes in the process (there's now well over 200K worth of
  64. source code).  Eliminated a problem with marking files read-only.
  65. Added options to change the User Macros in ScrnSect 5.
  66.     Changed the Language option to include the language number.  Also
  67. added an Import option to restore user records from USER.SAV.  Made
  68. some other minor improvements (including using a new sort routine).
  69. You can now format the output of the report when sending it to a file.
  70.     Fixed a problem in the Report when sending a specific range of
  71. records to a file (it would name the file whatever the highest record
  72. number you selected was).  Added some more questions to the Report.
  73. Also switched to the Compact memory model to allow up to 2300 records
  74. to be sorted.

  80.     SFUE17 no longer accepts a record number of zero when asking which
  81. record number to show.  Now SFUE17 will not allow you to have a user's
  82. number of calls set to zero.  Added user (SysOp) selectable multi-key
  83. sorting (hurray!).
  84.     Made a couple of internal changes.  Added a save file to the Zap
  85. option.  Added option to generate a report for ONLY a specific range
  86. of records instead of the entire database.  Added Global option to
  87. make global changes to the database.  Also made it so SFUE17 will ask
  88. to update the index when exiting if necessary, instead of always
  89. updating when it felt necessary.
  90.     Changed the Report format.  Also when sending the report to the the
  91. printer, you can now specify whether you want it formatted for 6 or 8
  92. Lines Per Inch (66 or 88 Lines Per Page).  You can also display users
  93. with their last name first (Report).  Also when you sort by lastname
  94. (2ndname), the database is sorted by true lastname.  Before if a user
  95. had a middle initial, then it would be considered part of the lastname.
  96. Also, if a user has his last call time set in the future (it could
  97. happen), SFUE17 will now set the number of days since his last call
  98. to zero (so he/she doesn't get Purged).

  100. 10-12-1991  v1.04:
  101.     Added a 5th ScrnSect (in the position of ScrnSect 2) to allow changing
  102. of the Sysop Comment.  Also did slight improvement on the function that
  103. accepts a string.  Fixed (and improved) the Report option (Screen).
  104.     Fixed a share violation when updating the user index, and slightly
  105. improved on the Sort/Zap file sharing modes.  Also did minor color change
  106. to the ScrnSect's.
  107.     Added the "Hidden" access privilege for those who want to use it.
  108. Also changed the assignment of a file-handle when sending output to either
  109. the screen or printer.  Fixed a problem when changing the current record
  110. when the index needs updating.

  113.     Fixed ReadMsgs to use a 'D' instead of an 'R' which is used for
  114. selecting a record number.
  115.     Program now updates the USER.NDX via calling USERNDX every time that
  116. the program does something that could change the order/number of records
  117. in the database (i.e. sOrt, Zap).
  118.     Added a DOS Shell option via the F9 key.  Re-designed the screen to
  119. allow for more options.  Added an option to change the user's Section.
  120. Also added an option to change the Default Protocol.
  121.     Added a user Report option.  Added file sharing for multi-tasking
  122. environments.  The ScrnSect box that is active now has its number BLINK.
  123. Improved the Zap function to allow for Confirmation before removing each
  124. user from the database.  The command-line Zap (by Days) now works like it
  125. should.  Also did slight modifications to the Expiration controls.
  126.     SFUE17 will now search for USER.DAT using the OPUS environment, then the
  127. PRM file if the User Database isn't in the Opus Home directory, then in
  128. the directory that SFUE17 started from if the database isn't found in the
  129. current directory.  Also did a minor screen change (credit/debit).
  130.     Did some internal changes.  Added the ability to specify (on the
  131. command-line) the first file SFUE17 will try to open instead of USER.DAT,
  132. or just specify the default path to look for USER.DAT.

  134. 07-14-1991  v1.02:
  135.     Cleaned up help screen.  Also changed the way Keys are set (now the
  136. Keys are toggled instead of having to type in every key you want active).
  137. Also dots are displayed on the screen in place of inactive Keys.
  138.     Fixed the display for extended text modes available on the VGA.
  139.     Added -B command-line option for BIOS screen writes.  Also fixed a
  140. problem when pressing Enter instead of entering in a number on certain
  141. items.  The screen now displays the proper key for changing the Address.
  142.     Added number of days option when doing a Zap.

  145.     Added option to swap two records with each other.  Also you can now
  146. sort a range of records instead of the whole database.  By default, the
  147. first record will now be protected from the sort.  The Sort option now
  148. sorts by the user's last name instead of their first name.  Added a -Z
  149. command-line option for automated cleanup (Zap) of the database.
  150.     Added color for local mode.  Fixed ScrnSect from accepting an invalid
  151. keypress.  Fixed the displayed month in the BirthDate field, and how it
  152. saves the number of the month.
