  1. RYBBS Setup Problems
  2. --------------------
  3. The most common problems that I've come across are the following:

  5.   Problem                             Try This!

  7. Program won't start up or             This is probably the wrong COM port
  8. very sluggish                         Use alternate COM port
  9.  
  10. Modem won't reset or accept           If you have a modem that only has a few
  11. information from RYBBS program        wires you might try to set the NO CTS
  12.                                       switch in your startup.bbs file. 
  13.  
  14. Local login repeats characters        Carrier Detect switch might be set wrong.
  15. or phrases over and over              In a 2400 baud modem you should have the
  16.                                       &D2 and &C1 modem commands in your
  17.                                       modeinit.bbs file. (ie AT&C1&D1 etc )
  18.  
  19. RYBBS starts but you can't            Try setting Carrier Detect switch on
  20. access via local log-on or            modem to false (don't force it true!)
  21.  
  22. Set DTR forced true                   Set appropriate switch false
  23. from a modem switch
  24.  
  25. Zmodem not working                    You need to get the DSZ program into
  26.                                       the RyBBS system directory and make sure
  27.                                       that NO ZMODEM in startup.bbs is disabled
  28.  
  29. Not enough memory                     Get more memory
