  6.           It has been over three years now since I released PHOMAST3.ARC,
  7.           and over a year since PHOMAST5.ARC.  Since that time I have
  8.           received letters and cards from all over the world from people
  9.           just like yourself that want to enjoy the power of YAM or ZCOMM
  10.           yet have had trouble getting a handle on this very comprehensive
  11.           communications environment.  With all this feed back, plus time
  12.           working with YAM/ZCOMM I have come up with this latest release.
  13.               
  14.           This new version is called PHOMAST6.ZIP and it includes some
  15.           additional sections and coding changes based on user input over
  16.           the past year. Because of its universal acceptance combined with
  17.           the fact it is now being shipped with both YAM and ZCOMM you are
  18.           now looking at the newest version.  It has been revised to work
  19.           with YAM/ZCOMM Version 17.70 and above.

  21.              So what's new:

  23.              1)  A fully automated script configuration that allow you to
  24.           work with YAM/ZCOMM right out of the box.  All you need is
  25.           YAM.EXE (or its shareware subset ZCOMM.EXE) and this PHOMAST.T
  26.           script.  Menu driven setup means you're up and running without
  27.           even using an editor.  It automatically sets up modem prefix,
  28.           port selection, screen color, long distance carrier codes, and
  29.           finds help files...

  31.              2)  Menu drive selection of dialing prefix, especially useful
  32.           for laptop users on the go, is activated with Shift-F6.
  33.               
  34.              3)  Automatic connect speed sensing.
  35.               
  36.              4)  Expansion of added functionality provided in newer
  37.           versions of YAM.
  38.  
  39.              5)  Increased script documentation to help explain items where
  40.           confusion existed in the past releases.  Included sections
  41.           describes various YAM/ZCOMM functionality (i.e. help,
  42.           command-line, etc.).

  44.              6)  Phone numbers were updated to reflect recent changes.
  45.               
  46.              7)  Autolog example provided for WildCat, TCOMM, and
  47.           CompuServe.
  48.               
  49.              8)  New option to keep remote from timing out due to
  50.           inactivity...  (Shift-F3) for this Holding pattern.

  52.              9)  An 12 page mini-manual (PHOMAST.DOC) that is formatted for
  53.           your printer.  This supplements the disk or printed manual
  54.           highlighting important information.  Just give the DOS command:
  55.           'PRINT PHOMAST.DOC'
  56.  
  57.              10)  A history file whose contents automatically empty on
  58.           program exit (you can easily modify this code to write over
  59.           contents before erasure if you need true password protection).

  61.              11)  Updated example of how to call an external dialing menu
  62.           (SHIFT-F7).

  64.              12)  More comprehensive color setup and color display (using
  65.           the 'gosub color' command)

  67.              13)  I have included a PUBLIC DOMAIN editor in PHOMAST6.ZIP
  68.           called Colorado State Editor (CSE) version 3.10 developed by J.
  69.           R. Applegate at the Colorado School of Mines.  This full featured
  70.           and configurable editor is only 13K and features block copies,
  71.           moves, case change, deletes, etc.

  73.              14)  An update of the lean mean script written by Bob
  74.           Willoughby called TUF_FONS.T as a demonstration of a bare-bones,
  75.           no-frills, phones script to use as a platform if you just want
  76.           core functionality.

  82.           I suggest you print out and READ the PHOMAST.DOC file.  To do
  83.           this just give the DOS command: 'PRINT PHOMAST.DOC'.  The
  84.           documentation explains much of how YAM/ZCOMM works...  I hope you
  85.           enjoy this upgrade!  Whether you have used one of my older
  86.           versions or are a new user I'm sure you will find this upgrade
  87.           very helpful.  If you are a new user -- welcome to the powerful
  88.           world of YAM/ZCOMM.  I was a die-hard ProComm user in the past
  89.           and can say with certainty you will enjoy the power and
  90.           flexibility of this communications package from OMEN Technology.
