  3. All files in this package must be included in any distribution 
  4. with the exception of the USER.TXT file.  ONLY the USER.TXT file 
  5. may be distributed without the rest of the package.  The files 
  6. that should be in this package are:

  8. SETUP.TXT      : This file
  9. NETS100.EXE    : The NetSex Executable, version 1.00
  10. NETS100.C      : The C source to NetSEX, version 1.00
  11. NET.H          : Include file
  12. FIDO.H         : Include file
  13. USER.TXT       : User information
  14. FIDO.NET       : A sample FIDO.NET file
  15. FIDO_NET.DOC   : Documentation on the format of the FIDO.NET file

  18.                     *** Setting up NetSEX ***
  19.  
  20. 1.  Aquire a fidonet node number from your fidonet area 
  21.     coordinator.
  22.  
  23. 2.  Aquire a gateway node number by e-mailing 1@5317.  In the 
  24.     message be sure to include your WWIV node number,  your 
  25.     Fidonet Address, and your USENET address if you have one. 
  26.  
  27. 3.  Create or edit the FIDO.NET file and place it in your wwiv 
  28.     DATA directory.
  29.  
  30. 4.  Place the NetSEX executable in your WWIV directory.
  31.  
  32. 5.  Run Netsex with one of the following parameter combinations:
  33.        NETS.EXE <DATA DIRECTORY> \W
  34.          ( Import messages from Fidonet to WWIVNET)
  35.        NETS.EXE <DATA DIRECTORY> \F
  36.          ( Export messages from WWIVNET to Fidonet)
  37.        NETS.EXE <DATA DIRECTORY> \WF
  38.          ( Import then Export )
  39.        NETS.EXE <DATA DIRECTORY> \FW
  40.          ( Export then Import)
  41.        NETS.EXE <DATA DIRECTORY>
  42.          ( Default - Import then Export)

  44.     If everything is set up correctly you should get a display of 
  45. what messages are being processed and some totals.  If there are 
  46. errors in your FIDO.NET file NetSEX will print a messages telling 
  47. what line is causing the trouble.
  48.      Be sure to run NetSEX before and after ZMH (zone mail hour) 
  49. if your Fidonet node networks only during ZMH.
  50.      The current convention for gatewayed subs is to use sub 
  51. numbers in the range of 600-799. Even sub numbers are used for 
  52. USENET News Groups and Odd sub numbers are used for Fidonet 
  53. EchoMail areas.  Sub 600 is the NetSEX support sub, To join send 
  54. e-mail to 1@7400 requesting that you be added.

  56. The file USER.TXT that is included with this package is intended 
  57. to be a reference for BBS users who would like to take 
  58. advantadge of a NetSEX gateway.  I would suggest having this file 
  59. downloadable or availiable under WWIV's GFILES area.
