  6.   What i  will be telling you  below you must  understand and agree upon
  7.   BEFORE you  use any  part of the FEBBS-Package.  The FEBBS-Package  is
  8.   subject to the following license terms and conditions.

  10.   *  The FEBBS-package is supplied as is. The author disclaims all
  11.      warranties,  expressed or  implied, including,  without limitation,
  12.      the warranties of  merchantability and of fitness for  any purpose.
  13.      The   author  assumes   no   liability  for   damages,   direct  or
  14.      consequential, which may result from the use of the FEBBS-package.
  15.  
  16.   *  The FEBBS-package is a "shareware program" and is provided at no
  17.      charge to the user for evaluation.  Feel free to share it with your
  18.      friends,  but please  do not  give it  away altered  or as  part of
  19.      another  system. The  essence  of "user-supported"  software  is to
  20.      provide personal computer  users with quality software without high
  21.      prices, and yet to provide incentive for programmers to continue to
  22.      develop new products.

  24.   *  The FEBBS-package, all programs, the documentation and support
  25.      files  are  copyrighted  1991  by Patrik  Sjöberg.  All rights  are
  26.      reserved.  You may copy  this package for backup  purposes. You may
  27.      also  copy  and  share  unmodified  copies  of  the whole  package,
  28.      providing that the copyright  notice is reproduced and  included on
  29.      all copies.

  31.   *  You may not sell the product for a fee and/or distribute the
  32.      product along  with other products  without written permission, nor
  33.      may you modify or remove the Copyright Notices from the programs or
  34.      the documentation files.  User clubs, if they  are NOT  commercial,
  35.      are  allowed to  ask a small amount  of money  for distribution and
  36.      storage when they want to share this package amongst their members.

  38.   *  It is forbidden to modify, adapt, translate, reverse engineer,
  39.      decompile  and/or disassemble  the  software in  the FEBBS-package.
  40.      Patching  the medium at places that carry the software is seen as a
  41.      program change and is also forbidden.

  43.   *  Non-commercial users can get a licence for the usage up to this
  44.      release of the FEBBS-package for a small amount of money.  Previous
  45.      registered users will receive a big reduction to upgrade to the newer
  46.      versions.

  48.   *  Commercial usage of FEBBS will cost somewhat more. Also, a so
  49.      called 'closed' Bulletin Board System (a system where the user must
  50.      pay direct to the SysOp  to get full access) has to pay more than a
  51.      Non-commercial  user. Usage  of the  Febbs-Package on  a BBS with 3
  52.      (three)  lines or  more is  considered as  'closed bbs'  usage also.

  58.     There are several ways of registrating the Febbs-package. It is
  59.     all depending on the environment where Febbs will be running.
  60.     Read the disclaimer above before you decide what type of registration
  61.     that suits your environment.

  64.     NON-Commercial registration :

  66.     Regarding the time and effort i have put into this product, the
  67.     NON-commercial registration is simple and rather cheap.

  69.     Payment of the registration fee, entitles you to:
  70.  
  71.     - The license for running ONE copy of the Febbs-package on any
  72.       computer in a NON-commercial environment. Allthough you must
  73.       treat the Febbs-Package like a book. That is, it can't be run
  74.       on more than one CPU at a time.
  75.  
  76.     - A Serial number that makes your Copy of Febbs licensed to You.
  77.       This serial number can be used on subsequent releases for at
  78.       least a year, Any copy can be used, also thoose obtained from
  79.       Shareware sources like a BBS.

  81.     - The license for NON-commercial usage can not be used in any other
  82.       environment than the NON-commercial environment itself. Upgrading
  83.       to a commercial license or to a license for a closed BBS can be
  84.       done by paying the difference in price between the current license
  85.       and the new license;

  87.     The license does NOT include any update service as described later
  88.     nor does it include the 90 days support service.

  90.     The price for a NON-commercial license is SEK 170:-

  93.     Closed BBS registration:

  95.     When you use the Febbs-Package on a it on a so called 'closed' BBS you
  96.     must pay for a closed BBS license.

  98.     The definition of a closed BBS is a BBS where the users must pay to the
  99.     Sysop to get full access. Also a BBS with three (3) or more lines must
  100.     pay a closed BBS License.

  102.     Payment of the registration fee, entitles you to:

  132.     regarded as a commercial. It doesn't matter if the company isn't
  133.     making any money from the usage. It is still being run from an
  134.     commercial environment.

  139.       computer in a commercial environment. Allthough you must
  140.       treat the Febbs-Package like a book. That is, it can't be run

  165.     There are several ways of transfering the license fee to me.
  166.     Common for all of them is that they should be made payable
  167.     to Patrik Sjöberg.

  169.     - By postal money order or international money order. Normal cheques
  170.       will cost me extra money to cash, so add SEK 20:- for transfer
  171.       if you use a cheque. The real rate for transfering a Foreign check
  172.       is SEK 50 :- so i am only charging you some of the amount for
  173.       this.  The conversion charge only applies to Non-Swedish cheques.

  175.     - By Postal Giro.
  176.       My Postal Giro account in Stockholm is 414 24 67 - 2.
  177.       The Postal Giro is also known as PostGiro, Postcheckkonto,
  178.       Compte Chèques postaux, PostRekening, Girobank Account all
  179.       depending on the country you live in.

  183.     At this point i can Not accept credit cards. I am currently in
  184.     contact with my bank to try to solve this problem

  186.     All prices are given in Swedish Krones. If you feel unsure what the
  187.     current exchange rate is talk with your bank. They will be more than
  188.     happy to help you out.

  196.     Please note that all Checks and MoneyOrders must be in Swedish
  197.     Currency otherwise i will have to pay up to 30% of the
  198.     Non-commercial license just to be able to cash it. I may even
  199.     be forced to return your payment and ask you to resend it in
  200.     proper currency.

  202.     I think that if you can afford a BBS, a Computer, a modem
  203.     and probably EchoMail, then you also can afford to pay the
  204.     software that you use to maintain your BBS.

  206.     I know that it shouldn't be to hard to crack the few things
  207.     that appear in the unregistered version but thats not the point.
  208.     The program still works. It is *Not* Crippled in any other way!
  209.     I don't believe that a program can be made full-proof to hackers,
  210.     and such, I don't find it usefull to create difficult algorithms.
  211.     Many people know by now that when people don't register, the
  212.     program will die, sooner or later. So if you wish to see future
  213.     enhancemants of Febbs ( and my other programs ) then Please Register.

  249.     number then no additional fees are necesary.

  255.     How much I still would like to send you all an upgrade for free I
  256.     can't do that. My phonebills wouldn't stand it. So if you would
  257.     like an upgrade of FEBBS when it sees the light of day you will have
  258.     to enter the update service. International users who use Febbs will
  259.     benefit most of this feature. Paying the fee for update service,
  260.     entitles you to:
  261.  
  262.     - Receiving every new release for the period of one year or 10
  263.       releases (which ever comes first) on diskette media by
  264.       first-class Airmail.
  265.  
  266.     - The diskettes are first-class (no no-name or white diskettes) and
  267.       will contain a special diskette label;
  268.  
  269.     The disk(s) will be mailed the same day as the new version is released.

  275.     The Febbs-Package has full support from its Author.
  276.     New versions are allways under development. And the Author is
  277.     allways open to the user input. So if you feel that something
  278.     is missing or that something is "backwards" let me know and
  279.     i'll have a look at it and maybe in some future version you'll
  280.     find it implemented.

  282.     As a registered user you are entitled to :
  283.  
  284.     - Free support.
  285.  
  286.     - This support consists of answering questions and fixing any program
  287.       errors the user submits to Author in person. Only program errors
  288.       that can be reproduced and that interfere with the intended use of
  289.       the program as outlined in the documentation will be fixed. The
  290.       author can ask you to give some special data to correct the problem
  291.       and can ask you to check if you own a valid copy of the Febbs-package.
  292.  
  293.     - The author may choose not to fix any problem that is related to
  294.       hardware and/or software configurations that causes one or more
  295.       of the programs in the Febbs-package not to run correctly. If the
  296.       Author chooses to NOT correct such a problem you are NOT entitled
  297.       to a refund of the license money.

  299.     Unregistered users will only reciece support if i have the time.
  300.     I do NOT guarente that non-registered users will get any response from
  301.     the Author.
