- Welcome to Ten-In-A-Row online game! The game is fairly easy to learn,
- yet can challenge you for hours on end. If you have ever played the game called
- Rack-O (tm) you may be able to grasp the concept quite easy.
- The basic game play is this: You try to get 10 cards all in somewhat
- consecutive order going from left to right. It will be explained more in
- detail in the next section. Basically the whole object of the game is
- to be the high scorer (obviously).
- The main menu of the game that has shown up after the registration
- screen should be quite self-explanitory, so I won't go into all the items
- in any sort of detail, As you have already figured out how to use it if you
- are reading this!

- When playing the game, you will see 10 cards drawn on the screen with
- a small brown box above each one, with one of these boxes containing a yellow
- asterisk to indicate that it is the selected card. The whole point of the game
- is to get all 10 cards in some sort of semi-consecutive order. The rule behind
- them being in 'consecutive order' is that the card must be either one higher
- or lower than the one next to it. For example if you had this hand:
- ___ ___ ___ ___ ___ ___ ___ ___ ___ ___
- | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | |
- | 3 | | 4 | | 3 | | 4 | | 5 | | 8 | | 9 | | T | | J | | Q |
- |___| |___| |___| |___| |___| |___| |___| |___| |___| |___|
-
- You would get credit for having the first 5 cards being consecutive,
- but not for the last 5 cards as there is a break in the string. The streak
- must always start from the card on the far left and work to the right. To
- change a card, move the asterisk to that box (by using the arrow keys : Be
- sure that your numlocks key is on) and press enter to put the top card from
- the stockpile (the card displayed below the 10 card row) onto that spot.
- The sysop can define the amount of stock-pile cards you get, so if you find
- it too easy or too hard, have him adjust the number.
-
- The scoring works on the basis of how many consecutive cards. After
- you run out of cards, or have the screen set up just how you like, press "Q"
- to end the game, and it will score your streak. The scoring goes as follows:
-
- Consecutive Cards Score
- ------------------- -------
- 1 0
- 2 100
- 3 200
- 4 300
- 5 400
- 6 500
- 7 600
- 8 700
- 9 1500
- 10 2000
-
- That's really all there is to it. So have fun, and enjoy the game!
- If you like it, encourage your sysop to register it!
