- BUG LIST for SRE 0.982+
- ──────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────
-
- ■ Run-Time error in SRDOOR. This is because your doorfile is A Good Doorfile
- and SRDOOR is a Bad Program. There's a temporary "fix" in Q&A.TXT.
-
- ■ Can't run locally. (You probably have a Wildcat or WWIV board.) Either
- switch to Telegard :) or run a separate batch file for yourself with the
- parameter
- SRE /LOCAL
-
- ■ Many lockups & loss of modem transmission. I don't know why this happens;
- it just does. No fix available. This is more likely to happen during the
- messages area and the chat mode.
-
- ■ Local ANSI trash. Remove the "/LOG" from the batch file. It *might* help.
-
- ■ Problems with Multi-Node systems. Although SRE saves often, it is NOT
- designed to work with a multi node system. Please limit the game to
- running on one node at a time. You may wish to run several games so that
- users are not stuck.
-
- ■ "GALAXY.SR not found". Run SRE RESET. This is caused because the ZIP/ARJ
- file does NOT come with the proper data files. This is so that upgrading
- will NOT delete your game.
-
- ■ Negative planets. Unknown cause - please report the circumstances if you
- can find them.
-
- ■ "Attempt to load User [ / ]" - Anything in SYSOP.LOG that looks unhealthy
- should be reported to the Solar Realm!
-
- ■ Freezeups at locked baud rates. Run SRLOCK to fix this. SRLOCK.ZIP has
- instructions on its installation. We will be adding the option to run
- it into SRINSTAL soon. Also use /NOSPECIALEFFECTS to prevent modem
- buffer overflows.
-
- ■ No output. Use SRE /BIOS if you suspect any compatibility problems.
- (Sorry, you monochrome users may need to run /BIOS for now.)
-
- ■ Wildcat, WWIV, GT, Searchlight, PC-Board door file support. These are
- NOT tested, but you may wish to experiment. The door files that are
- supposed to work are "DOOR.SYS" and "DORINFO1.DEF". (Unless it's 38400
- baud)
-
- ■ Incompatibility with non-standard COM3/COM4 modems. I'm working on this,
- but at this time, there is no fix available. SRE assumes your COM3 and
- COM4 are at port addresses $2E8 and $3E8, and interrupt levels 3 and 4.
- This "bug" has been fixed in version 0.982, but I don't have a non-standard
- COM3/COM4 port, so I don't know if it will work. SRE also supports up
- to COM8, if you have it, but it doesn't have any default interrupt or
- base port addresses for COM5-COM8. See SRE.RC and WHATS.NEW for details.
