- QGWAR - What's New and History
-
-
- v2.03 (Mar 1, 1992)
-
- -- Updated to reflect changes in Global Wars v2.40.
-
- -- Added support for Wildcat's DOOR.SYS file.
-
- -- Added a "Hall of Fame" Bulletin
-
- -- Changed the "Update Time" from 15 to 45 minutes for determing
- if the Bulletins need to be updated. This should help those
- systems where players are involved in many games and may actually
- remain in the door past the "update time" of the file modified.
-
- -- Changed the code to allow for 3 character lengths in the Global War
- configuration file for the following items:
-
- - Total Number of Games
- - Maximum amount of minutes allowed in game each day
-
- -- Trimmed the bulletin size down from 79 to 75 character width.
- This should allow for better import of these files into your
- message base if you so desire.
-
- -- As requested QGWAR now supports "BBS control codes" that you may
- define in the QGWAR.CFG file. These can be displayed prior to
- and after each bulletin created by QGWAR.CFG
-
-
-
- v2.02 (Jan 9, 1992)
-
- -- Reduced code size by 2.5K and increased program display speed to
- the local console.
-
- -- Fixed the bug in the Military rankings. QGWAR was not properly
- promoting players to the proper rank in the rankings output file.
-
- -- Added "Last Updated Date" to the rankings bulletin.
-
- -- 8088/8086 version added (Filename QGWAR!.EXE).
-
- -- Added intructions for using QGWAR with TELGARD BBS systems
- (thanks to Tim Thompson on The Underground BBS - FidoNet 202/215)
-
-
- v2.01 (Dec 8, 1991)
-
- -- complete abortion (never fully distributed -- Thank god)
-
-
- v2.00 (Nov 21, 1991)
-
- -- QGWAR will now correctly uses drives C through Z.
-
- -- Global War Information Bulletin module added.
-
- -- Global War Rankings Bulletin module added.
-
- -- Added support for a QGWAR.CFG file. This will allow advanced
- features of QGwar to be accessed. This file is optional and
- if not used the program will still function as a fast interface
- with the BBS software.
-
- -- Support for GAMESTAT v1.xx <c> 1991 RoyaLink Software by Greg King.
- This is a well written program that determines the "average plays
- per day" of each door specified, creates a graphical representation
- of usage, and outputs the top 15 to the file you specified.
- (This file is available for download as GAMEST11.ZIP)
-
- -- Fixed the sloppy way QGwar required the path and drive be enterd
- on the Type 7 command line.
- - Old way: C \ra\doors\gwar
- - New way: C:\ra\doors\gwar\war.exe
-
- There are a couple of advantages to this 1) this is the normal way
- we all type at the dos prompt, and 2) if the war.exe filename is
- changed the QGwar program will still function correctly
-
- -- QGWAR will now operate correctly with usernames containing a middle
- initial, a complete middle name, or one word names. NOTE: the
- current version of Global Wars (v2.32) does not support middle names
- using the /c option. Joel is aware of this and future versions will
- be corrected.
-
-
- v1.10 (July 23, 1991)
-
- -- QGwar will now work with drives C through F. Previous versions
- would not operate accross drives (i.e. The Global War files located
- on a different drive from the BBS software)
-
-
- v1.03
-
- -- Added support for the "extra" Type 7 command options that were
- first introduced by RemoteAccess BBS
-
-
- v1.02
-
- -- Added support of XBBS v1.xx
-
-
- v1.01
-
- -- Program recompiled using Microsoft C v5.1. This saved and
- additional 4Kb.
-
- -- Added and corrected spelling errors in the program code
