- The rankings are stored in a bulletin at the end of each play.
- This bulletin can be viewed from outside the game. This way,
- people not in the game, or who are out of turns, can view the
- rankings of the game. The bulletin is in a file called RANKBULL.LAB.
-
- The ranking calculation has also been fixed. There was an error
- that caused the scores to sometimes be calculated incorrectly. This
- error has been corrected and the scores are now accurate.
-
- The format of the ranking display is also nicer. The "R.I.P."
- that shows up aligns itself where the zero would have been for dead
- players.
-
- There is now a carry limit on items. A maximum of 100 items can
- be carried at once. Only 10 potions may be carried at once. This was
- done to help reduce the effects of a player shuttling between a cheap
- merchant and an expensive one, buying and selling potions for a major
- profit, and becoming huge in one day. It is also suggested that no
- two merchants should be placed within less than 6 or 7 moves of each
- other.

- The LABCREAT.EXE program was slightly changed. It now gives 7
- merchants to start with and has more options for setting them up.

- A character called "The Digital Bully", a trademark of Spectral
- Computer Systems, has been added to the game. At random intervals
- he will harrass the player. Sometimes he will simply go by and not
- do anything to the player. Other times, he will do between 1 and 10
- percent damage to the opponents hit points and take all the player's
- posessions. On a very rare occasion, his mugging attempt will be
- unsuccessful and he will drop treasure as he exits. The purpose of
- The Digital Bully is to add a little more drama to the game and
- to help even out the players. Since his damage works on a percentage
- basis, bigger players will be hit harder than smaller players.

- I have lowered the registration fee from $20.00 to $10.00
- in hopes of more registrations.

- After getting blown up by a bomb, you are told of the number
- you should have guessed.
-
- If the active player loses a battle and drops his treasure,
- the winner of the battle automatically picks up the treasures.
- This was in the original version but was accidentally dropped when
- a new feature was added.
-
- The bounty award is higher in this version. It is calculated
- by the bounty targets total score divided by two.
-
- Version 1.2e sometimes gave an improper message when picking
- up treasures and/or potions. That has been corrected.
-
- When buying potions, players may only carry but 10 but the
- message implied that more could be bought. This has been corrected.
-
- If a huge player battles a small player, the huge player could
- actually lose experience while the small player gains experience.
- This will help keep large players from beating up the newcomers.

- NOTE: Labyrinth can now be played locally. Set up the game
- with the install batch file. Type LL and hit return
- to gain access to the game.

- Large players are penalized more accordingly to the difference
- if they attack players whose scores are more than 20,000 points below
- their own. Players will be warned if attacking a player will cause
- them a penalty. While off-line, players will not attack if it will
- cause them a penalty.

- The use bomb default has been changed from "Y" to "N". This
- was changed because many people complained of wasting their bombs
- because of the default.
-
- To deactivate a bomb, the range is 0 - 7 instead of 0 - 9.
- The occasional selection of 10 bug has also been removed.
-
- The reward for chasing or killing the bounty target has been
- changed to experience. For keeping the bounty target running,
- gold is still the reward.
-
- There is a "Hit any key" pause at the end of each battle. This
- was added because information would sometimes scroll off the screen
- too quickly following a battle.

- The hit value for a miss has been changed from 1/4 to 1/2 the
- value of a hit. The value for a retreat attempt has been changed
- from 1/8 to 1/4. This gives smaller people better experience growth.

- If you have a bomb, you can use it against the Digital Bully.
- If he was going to mug you, he will drop treasure instead. If he was
- just going to run by or was going to drop stuff anyway, you will waste
- your bomb.

- Any player reaching 150,000 points will be rewarded with a picture
- of the Digital Bully crying.
-
- When a bomb explodes, an ANSI picture of an explosion will be
- shown.
-
- A problem in the ranking calculation has been fixed.
-
- Armor now acts as protection against a bomb. The higher the
- armor type, the lower the percentage of damage a bomb will do to
- a player's hit points. This makes armor more important. The
- percentage of damage to hit points is (50 - Armor Type)%. One armor
- type will be lost with each bomb explosion. Armor will never go
- below zero.

- The maze is stocked a little more upon creation of the maze.
- The first players in the game were usually finding very little.
-
- Upon completion of a new maze, when using the INSTALL batch
- file, old players are deleted from the disk.
-
- Players can quit faster by taking all the defaults with the
- "Q!" command. This command is called "Quick Quit".
-
- Items can be dropped with the "J"unk items command. Players
- can drop their items so a "G"et items will pick up the most valuable
- items when they can carry no more. It could also be useful in
- protecting the items from the bully in a mugging.
-
- The Hall of Fame has been updated and can be viewed from within
- the game with the "Z" command and could also be used as a bulletin
- file.
-
- When players are chased, they will pick up any treasure found
- in the new room. If they pick up potions, they will drink them.
- (This is for off-line players only)

- When retreating, players will not drop their bombs if they have
- any.
-
- An improper message was sometimes given when a player could carry
- no more but did a "G"et. It would say that "Some items were taken"
- when they actually weren't. This has been fixed.
-
- When describing a player, it will show about how much treasure
- he/she is carrying. The number will be accurate within 2. Gold
- is not included in this.
-
- You can drink ALL potions with the "P!" command. It simply
- skips the question asking how many potions you wish to drink and
- has you drink all the potions that you posess.

- The control file LAB.CTL is edited as part of the INSTALL
- procedure now. The SysOp will be prompted for the values. This
- is to make installation of Labyrinth even easier.
