  1. The Main Menu
  2. -------------

  4.    [J]oin conference or [A]rea change
  5.        This command is used to change the current conference that you are
  6.        in. Most systems that carry echomail support a variety of confrerences         supporting many topics. You will be shown a list of the
  7.        you will be prompted for the conference area number that you wish to
  8.        Join. This command affects the Read, Scan, Pack, and Write commands.
  9.  
  10.    [R]ead messages.
  11.        This command will display a prompt to allow you to read messages.
  12.        See the "Reading Messages" topic for more information.
  13.  
  14.    [E]nter message.
  15.        This will allow you to type in a message into the current area.
  16.        See the "Writing Messages" topic for more information.
  17.  
  18.    [S]can message area.
  19.        This will display a quick summary of all of the messages in the
  20.        echo mail area. You may list messages to or from you, public messages,
  21.        or all.
  22.  
  23.    [N]ew messages.
  24.        This will display a list of all the areas on the system that have
  25.        new messages.  The number of new messages since your last call will
  26.        also be displayed.
  27.  
  28.    [C]heck for messages
  29.        This will list all messages to you since the last time you logged
  30.        on (actually, it is from your lastread pointer in the area).
  31.  
  32.    [P]ack mail.
  33.        This command will place you in the Pack mail section.
  34.  
  35.    [L]eave a comment.
  36.        If enabled, this will allow you to enter a private comment to the
  37.        sysop of the bbs.
  38.  
  39.    [H]elp section.
  40.        This displays the help files you are reading.
  41.  
  42.    [G]oodby or [Q]uit
  43.        This will bring you back to the main menu of the bbs.
  44.  
  45.    [U]ser preferences.
  46.        This will allow you to change your preferences.  It will place you
  47.        in the USER preferences menu.
