  6.        features available on a BBS system, there are a few things you
  7.        must do. Since you are reading this, we'll presume that you
  8.        have already figured out how to actually get connected to the
  9.        BBS. As we mentioned before, BBSes vary widely in what they have
  10.        to offer.  Later on, you will probably want to try calling
  11.        other BBSes in your area. Available from the main menu is a list
  12.        of BBS systems in this area that you will be able to call. A BBS
  13.        system is listed with its name, its phone number and the maximum
  14.        baud rate supported by the BBS. The baud rate is a measure of the
  15.        speed at which information can be transmitted between the BBS
  16.        system and your computer. You probably already know what the
  17.        highest baud rate your modem will support. For example, a 2400
