  7. My thanks to all those who have registered their usage of ClipHelp or
  8. who have written or phoned from many countries - sometimes at hours
  9. which left me wondering about the prudence of including my telephone
  10. number - in response to which I am pleased to release this new and
  11. improved Shareware version.
  12.  
  13. New features in ClipHelp vs 1.1 affect Clipper 5 users only - there are
  14. no changes in this release affecting Clipper Summer '87 users.

  16. Changes:

  18.      * Clipper 5 .OBJ module now contains no PUBLIC or PRIVATE
  19.        variables.
  20.  
  21.      * Module now contains only LOCAL or file-wide STATIC variables.
  22.  
  23.      * Now needs only one line to be added to application source code
  24.        to access all ClipHelp facilities.
  25.  
  26.      * Context-sensitivity now achieved by calling a function to pass
  27.        string/code to ClipHelp - avoids PUBLIC variable declaration.
  28.  
  29.      * Almost 20% reduction in .OBJ file size.
  30.  
  31.      * Improved speed through smaller size and revised variable
  32.        scoping.

  38.      12.   Clipper 5 version - Declarations in your application

  40. There is also a replacement HLPC501.LIB which I believe is a little
  41. faster than the one included with version 1.00, though it is not
  42. essential that this replacement be used.
