  1.                 Time Study Calculator V. 1.38
  2.  
  3.      This is a simple  program that  will  calculate the man hours
  4. needed to produce a given  number  of parts  in an eight hour
  5. shift. You  also  have  the option of calculate labor cost based
  6. on the hourly pay rate. All calculations are made at 70%, 80%,
  7. 90%, 100%  efficiency  and  written  to a  file  called  TIME.DAT
  8. which may be viewed or printed from the MAIN MENU. In addition to this I
  9. have also added an  EFFICIENCY CALCULATOR  which will calculate
  10. the efficiency of a process  based on  your standard. This part of
  11. the program also creates a  TEXT  file called  EFF.DAT  which may be
  12. viewed or printed from the MAIN MENU.

  14.       NOTE: 100% efficiency is based on a 57.5 minute hour which
  15.             is equal to an eight hour shift with two ten minute
  16.             breaks.

  21.       V.1.10: Initial release.

  23.       V.1.20: Added the EFFICIENCY part of the program.

  25.       V.1.21: Small BUG was found when asked; "Would you like to
  26.               make another calculation." the program would jump
  27.               to the MAIN MENU instead of the data entry area.
  28.               This has been corrected.

  30.       V.1.30: Added file viewing and printing to the program.
  31.               Files from previous versions had to be viewed from
  32.               DOS.

  34.       V.1.31: Minor fixes plus added a "WARNING" in the MAN HOUR
  35.               calculator warning you if the parts needed exceeds
  36.               the parts possible per shift.

  38.       V.1.32: Added the option of useing a number other than 10
  39.               parts for the sample time in MAN HOUR calculations.

  41.               Added "Setup Time" field.

  43.       V.1.33: Program now calculates Sub-Total for MAN HOURS & LABOR
  44.               COST.

  46.               File printing much cleaner plus added a "Header"
  47.               and option of adding a TITLE, TO and FROM to the
  48.               report.

  50.       V.1.34: An error was found when entering TITLE, TO and FROM
  51.               for the EFFICIENCY report. That part of the program
  52.               would repeat itself a second time. This has been
  53.               fixed.

  55.               There is a problem when you first run the program and
  56.               answer [N]o when asked if you want to delete the current
  57.               TIME.DAT or EFF.DAT file. The program gives inaccurate
  58.               calculations for the Sub-Totals. Now, when you first
  59.               startup the program it defaults [Y]es erasing any
  60.               previously entered data so, keep this in mind when
  61.               you run the program. Once you run one of the
  62.               calculations and return to the MAIN MENU the option
  63.               is available until you exit the program.

  65.               Added a NUMBER OF COPIES field for the REPORT part
  66.               of the program.

  68.       V.1.35: The BUG in the previous version has been corrected
  69.               so data from the last time you ran the program will
  70.               not be lost.

  72.               Added a "[REC. #x] field in the data entry areas
  73.               to show the record number that you are entering.
  74.  
  75.               The distribution disk now contains only three files,
  76.               TSC.EXE, TSC.DAT and this file. The other files will be
  77.               created the first time you run the program.

  79.       V.1.36: Added "No Records in this file" and "No Records to
  80.               print" prompts during the VIEW and PRINT commands
  81.               if no records are found.

  83.       V.1.37: No longer necessary to press [ENTER] after
  84.               responding  to prompts like [Y]es, [N]o, [Q]uit
  85.               ect..

  87.               Program no longer will ask, 'Do you wish to delete
  88.               the current TIME.DAT or EFF.DAT file?' if no file is
  89.               found.

  91.               Added a NOTE: at the end of the TIME STUDY REPORT
  92.               to show how the calculations were made at 100%, 90%,
  93.               80% and 70%.

  95.       V.1.38: A minor BUG was found in the last update. During
  96.               the first time run of the TIME STUDY part of the
  97.               program, inaccurate calculations were made in the
  98.               "TOTAL COST PER WEEK AT 70% EFF." field. This has
  99.               been corrected.
  100.  
  101.               Added a "ShareWare Notice" to the program.
  102.  
  103.               Instead of asking if you want to delete the current
  104.               TIME.DAT or EFF.DAT file the program now shows the
  105.               number of records in the file and asks if you want
  106.               to [A]ppend or [O]verwrite the file.
