Transcription: Transportation At the time when the pyramids were built at Giza, Egyptians did not have wheeled vehicles. They traveled from place to place by donkey, boat, or raft. Egyptians knew how to make many different kinds of boats. Small boats were made of papyrus reeds. Egyptians bundled reeds together, then tied the bundles together to make a boat. These boats were paddled in the Nile and in the marshes near the Mediterranean. Large boats made of wood planks sewn together with rope were used for travel in the Mediterranean Sea. Large boats were also used to transport the dead pharaoh to his pyramid. ...
