  1. Thank you for obtaining this evaluation version of SkyMap. The files are
  2. compressed, and the program MUST be installed by running the installation
  3. program. You will probably have received this program as either a ZIP file,
  4. either from a friend, a BBS or a disk vendor. To install SkyMap,
  5. you must run the installation program, as follows:
  6.  
  7. 1.  Unzip all the files into a TEMPORARY directory on your hard disk.
  8.     I will assume here that the directory is "C:\TMP", but any name
  9.     may be used.
  10.  
  11. 2.  Run Windows.
  12.  
  13. 3.  From "Program Manager", click on the "File" menu and select "Run...".
  14.  
  15. 4.  Type "C:\TMP\SETUP" into the "Command line" box, and press OK.
  16.     If you used a different directory name, substitute that for C:\TMP.
  17.  
  18. 5.  Follow the installation instructions displayed on the screen.
  19.  
  20. 6.  When installation is complete you may delete the files from the
  21.     temporary directory.

  23. Note that the SkyMap package contains two programs:
  24.  
  25.  - The 16-bit SkyMap 2.2 for Windows 3.1.
  26.  - The 32-bit SkyMap 3.0 for Windows 95 or Windows NT.

  28. The installation program will install SkyMap 3.0 if it detects that your
  29. computer is running either Windows 95 or Windows NT; otherwise, SkyMap 2.2
  30. will be installed.
