- CONVERT
-
- No doubt you know different units are be used for measuring the same things.
-
- The most obvious example is probably that of measuring length, where we have
- inches and centimetres; yards and metres; miles and kilometres etc.
- Then for capacity there are gallons and litres.
- For weight: ounces and grams; pounds and kilograms; tons and tonnes.
- For temperature: Celsius and Fahrenheit.
- And so on.
-
- For most of the time we can stick with one system and forget about the
- others, but just occasionally we do need to be able to change from one
- sort of unit to another. That is the purpose of the program called CONVERT.
- It will handle a wide range of conversions.
- It is text-only, non-colour program and should run on any PC.
- There are 2 files needed: CONVERT.EXE and CONVERT.MAN
- If you want to transfer them to another disk, make sure you keep them together.
- All you need to do to get it going is type in CONVERT.
-
- It is easy to use, with on-screen guidance at all times, but there is also an
- on-screen manual which is directly accessible from the program menu - just in
- case you want fuller information. Now try it!
