- Description:
- Face Off is a small game that was inspired by "Whack-A-Mole," another
- such game. Whack-a-mole was a great way to wear down your left mouse
- button and it was fun, but it was a little buggy when you tried to
- turn the speed and number too high up. Incidentally, it was that very
- same Whack-a-mole game that allowed me to win countless prizes at local
- fairs. So I decided to write this little game just for the heck of it.
-
- Instructions:
- The aim of the game is pretty simple: when a yellow happy face appears,
- you click it with your mouse button and it turns unhappy (I guess they
- didn't want to be bothered). I guess I could have made it so that they
- were unhappy and you clicked them and they became happy, but that seemed
- too much like a game that would come with a twelve-step programme so let's
- just leave it this way for now. You can change the settings, such as the
- frequency (how fast the faces appear) or happiness (how many faces appear)
- in the "FaceOff" menu in the menu bar, or by pressing CTRL-O. Your score
- is cumulatively displayed in the bottom left corner of the window. If
- it gets too ugly, press the reset button and it resets to zero. If the
- happy faces start to get to you, you can just hit "Please STOP!!" and they
- will stop. Maybe.
-
- Requirements:
- The game itself is pretty small, but it requires the VisualBASIC 5.0
- runtimes, which I didn't include because that would boost the size of
- the file a bit too much. You can download the VisualBASIC runtimes
- from www.windows95.com.
-
- Information:
- While I wouldn't ask for money for this game, it would be nice if you get
- a kick out of it to let me know with a small donation of, say, $2.00.
- Between my biochem courses at Carleton University and maintaining two
- web sites, there just isn't time enough to rest.
