  2. TheDraw was improved greatly for version 4.0.  The file WHATSNEW.DOC contains
  3. a list of new features.  Refer to the documentation for specific information
  4. on the various refinements.

  8. Users of TheDraw note:   Some computers (such as the Tandy 1000A and HX)
  9. have non-standard keyboard hardware that does not work with TheDraw.
  10.  
  11. If your computer appears to operate strangly when running TheDraw (ie: locks
  12. up or otherwise starts searching for the meaning of life), try the following:
  13.  
  14.                     SETUP * [ENTER]
  15.  
  16. The SETUP utility will work as always afterwards.  You must specify the name
  17. of the EXE file to "setup", before the fix takes place.  After entering the
  18. filespec, SETUP will show the current state of the keyboard driver.  You
  19. are prompted to change the setting.  Answer "Y" to toggle the driver off.
  20. Enter "N" to continue as normal to the edit display.  Exit SETUP and reply
  21. "Y" to the "Save Changes" prompt.

  23. Once the driver is turned off, the special keyboard driver within TheDraw is
  24. completely deactivated.  This should make TheDraw operate properly, although
  25. you may lose usage of CTRL-UP/DOWN and ALT-LEFT/RIGHT keystrokes.  If problems
  26. persist, please write describing the problem and include a listing of your
  27. hardware.  Mentioning how far TheDraw progressed before locking will be very
  28. helpful.  ie:  Did the Setup utility appear to work properly?  Did the TheDraw
  29. title screen appear?  If so, were you able to press a key for the edit menu?

  34. Additional note for Tandy users:  There appears to be an incompatibility
  35. between Tandy MsDos 2.11 and TheDraw v3.20 and above.  Upgrading to
  36. Tandy MsDos 3.20 corrects the problem.  Symptom is the computer simply
  37. hangs when attempting to run TheDraw, even with keyboard driver disabled.

  41. TheDraw is distributed with the utility program PRINTDOC.  PRINTDOC.EXE is a
  42. program to print the documentation for TheDraw.  Some people using Epson or
  43. similar printers find the IBM extended characters appearing throughout the
  44. documentation cause problems.  PRINTDOC can optionally filter these characters,
  45. can start printing from any page (in case disaster befalls you on page 72),
  46. and new with v4.0 print on both sides of the paper.  Enjoy!
