  5. >>WHAT'S ON THE DISK?<<

  7. The CD included with this program contains a demonstration version of Access
  8. Software's Links386 CD Golf Simulator. The program is a "locked-demo", allowing
  9. you to view what the software will do, and requires no interaction on the part
  10. of the user.

  13. >>WHAT DO I DO NOW?<<
  14.  
  15. Insert the Links386 CD CES Demo disk into your CD-ROM drive, type INSTALL, and
  16. follow the on-screen instructions. Example:
  17.  
  18. E:              (substitute your CD-ROM drive letter here)
  19. INSTALL
  20.  
  21. NOTE: You should install this demo into a directory other than one that
  22.       includes Links386 Pro or Links386 CD. The files in this demo are NOT
  23.       compatible with either Links386 Pro or Links386 CD!
  24.  
  25. The installation program will ask you if you wish to copy the Harbour Town
  26. course file onto your hard drive. If you choose to do so, screen redraw times
  27. will be slighly faster, however the demo will use an extra 2.1MB of hard disk
  28. space. If you do not choose to do so, the Links386 CD CES Demo disk must be
  29. in your CD-ROM drive while running the demo.

  32. >>RUNNING THE DEMO<<

  34. Insert your Links386 CES Demo disk into your CD-ROM drive, switch to the drive
  35. and directory on your hard disk where the demo is located, and type GOLFCD.

  42. The first time you run the demo, you will be asked to select your sound card
  43. options. If you are sure of your sound hardware setup, proceed to select the
  44. sound board installed and the required setting (I/O Port, Interrupt and DMA
  45. Channel). If you are unsure about these setting, select the "Auto Detect"
  46. button and follow the instructions. Use the "Sound Test" button to verify
  47. your sound hardware selections.

  49. NOTE: If you feel that you selected something incorrect, exit to DOS, delete
  50.       LINKSCD.INI and re-run GOLFCD. 
  51.  
  52. The demo will automatically begin after pressing the "Ok" button, playing 
  53. one of several recorded players included on the disk. If you chose to install
  54. the Harbour Town course files, you may also run the demo without the Links386
  55. CD CES Demo disk in the CD-ROM drive; you will not, however, be able to view
  56. the introduction or the hole flybys.

  58. NOTE: To exit the demo, press the ESC key before the automated player swings.
