Raves are also big in the docks area and Albany Road, St Paul's.[EITAL][PARA][BOLD]Music venues:[EBOLD] Many pubs have live music (notably the Fleece and Firkin and Bristol Bridge Inn for pop and rock, and the Old Duke for jazz). The city's [ITAL]best [EITAL]venue is the Bierkeller. For Jazz, Thekla. [ITAL]For classical the choicest tones stir at the Colston Hall and St George's.[EITAL][HDNG]UNIVERSITY:[EHDNG][PARA][GRPH]E2[EGRPH][STAT][BULL] Price of a pint of beer: ú 1.20 [BULL] Glass of wine: ú1[ESTAT][PARA][BOLD]Bars:[EBOLD] (5) Bars on each site open all day and until 11pm, except at Bower Ashton where it's only open at lunchtimes. Alternatively, any and every night, anyone can get down to the professional nightclub The Tube (120, adm ú2), owned by the SU. The SU rustles up a raucous rave called Sutra, [ITAL]famed throughout the West and beyond[EITAL], attracting DJs of the calibre of Carl Cox and Jon Pleased Wimmin.[PARA][BOLD]Cabaret:[EBOLD] Mirthmongers from the Doug Anthony Allstars to Nicholas Parsons have been spotted at cabaret nights and balls.[PARA][BOLD]Music venues:[EBOLD] The Common Room at the SU at Frenchay (450) is the premiere venue for live sounds for live wires. There are halls (250-300) around the other sites, used for regular events on all sites.[PARA][BOLD]Recent band appearances:[EBOLD] Urban Cookie Collective; Mega City Four; Technotronic.[PARA][BOLD]Others:[EBOLD] The SU runs occasional balls throughout the year, although a recent marquee-based extravaganza only sold two tickets.
