There's space for about 1/3 of finalists to move back in and nearly 10% can be housed in their 2nd year and don't have to move out in the first place. 15% of rooms are shared - with the older halls having larger rooms, but fewer power points. There are only 3 tower block halls (640 places) actually on the main campus at Singleton Park, all mixed, all bed and breakfast only. Neuadd Beck (that's Beck Hall in translation) which houses 180 students in single, double and even triple rooms - [ITAL]why, that's nearly a dormitory![EITAL] - is about 10 mins walk from Singleton Park. The 2 Clyne Halls, one for the ladies and one for the gents, provide nearly 350 catered places a mile further west out of town. One [ITAL]prize [EITAL]feature is the student village at Hendrefoilan which accommodates 989 students in attractive specially built houses, often split into flats. All these places are self-catering, occupied by between 4 and 11 people, sharing a kitchen and bathroom in noisy harmony. The Clyne Halls and Hendrefoilan are very much self-contained communities with some of their own amenities and organisations. There are a number of flatlets and flats for married couples (but not students wanting to cohabit in heterosexual sin). All new overseas students are housed.[PARA][BOLD]Catering: [EBOLD]For those in halls on campus, institutional food [ITAL]at its very averagest [EITAL]is served at Fulton House, which also has other snack and coffee bars, a post office, hairdressers, bar and doctor's surgery. So, students can go in with a letter, eat, get drunk, have a stupid haircut, fall over and get stitched without ever leaving the building.[PARA][BOLD]Car parking: [EBOLD]To park on campus one of the 50 available permits is needed [ITAL]and even with one, it ain't easy. [ITAL]Other good areas include Brymill, Uplands and Sketty although the east side of town is a bit too distant.
