It [PARA]has loads of gay pubs and many clubs have notable DJs. The 3rd is Park Village Bar which serves [PARA]a [ITAL]cocky [EITAL]cocktail or two. The University runs the Falmer Bar in [PARA]the SU Building [ITAL]- more of a pub than a bar[EITAL]. [ITAL]The ferry lounge-type[PARA]Grapevine is popular with the sports brigade. [EITAL][PARA][BOLD]Theatres:[EBOLD] The purpose-built theatre hosts a student production [PARA]once a term and touring shows. It also displays art exhibitions.[PARA][BOLD]Film:[EBOLD] The Film Society shows 2 films a week in a lecture theatre, [PARA]including, recently, Quadrophenia, La Grande Illusion, and An [PARA]Angel at my Table.[PARA][BOLD]Clubs/discos:[EBOLD] 6 nights a week, the Hothouse (250, adm ú2-ú3) is [PARA]the hot house for swing, sway and live bands. It's most popular [PARA]on Wednesdays after sporting fixtures and Fridays. The [PARA]Mandela Hall (600) is occasionally used for bigger events.[PARA][BOLD]Cabaret:[EBOLD] Once a term, the SU attracts [ITAL]some of the waggiest wits[PARA]in live comedy[EITAL] to the Mandela Hall, such as, recently, Jim Tavare [PARA]and the Doug Anthony Allstars.[PARA][BOLD]Music venues:[EBOLD] The Mandela Hall is the largest music venue. It's[PARA]the biggest outdoor student event in the country.[HDNG]EATING OUT:[EHDNG][PARA]The University refectory and cafeteria feed most of the masses, [PARA]but students also chomp and chew in the SU's Henry's Good [PARA]Idea Cafe ([ITAL]good for veggies[EITAL]), open for lunch and until 1am, and at [PARA]the Gallery in the Sports Centre. There are also snack bars in [PARA]the common rooms of each school of study and in the library [PARA]basement.
