[HDNG]QUEEN'S UNIVERSITY OF BELFAST STUDENTS' UNION/AONTAS NA MAC LâIN OLLSCOIL NA BANRIONA:[EHDNG][PARA][GRPH]P5[EGRPH][STAT][BULL] 6 sabbatical [BULL] Turnout at last ballot: 12% [BULL] NUS/USI member [ESTAT][PARA][ITAL]Politics is big, and most strands of thought, NI-based or not, are represented. Amazingly, the pot is yet to boil over and sectarianism is rare, although Celtic and Rangers fans aren't that chummy. With regard to the SU itself, most students couldn't give an Orangeman's whistle. [EITAL][HDNG]SU FACILITIES:[EHDNG][PARA]Bars; refectories; Bank of Ireland (with cashpoint); launderette; showers; supermarket; writing room; 2nd hand bookshops; sports shop; Endsleigh Insurance office; hairdresser; snooker room; games room; vending/games machines; photocopier; function rooms.[HDNG]CLUBS (NON SPORTING):[EHDNG][PARA]Agrarian; Alliance; Alternative; Amnesty; Ballroom Dancing; Byzantine; Celtic Supporters; Community Crucible; Debating; Dragonslayers; Gaelic; Graticule; Hispanic; Hong Kong Students; Italian; Malaysian; Pro-Life; Radio; Railway; Rangers Supporters; Science Fiction; Singapore; Union Debating; Ulster Unionist; Vegetarian; Wine.[HDNG]OTHER ORGANISATIONS:[EHDNG][PARA]Queen's students run 2 newspapers: 'The Release' (produced by the Union Executive) and 'Gown' (independent). Furthermore, the charity Rag clocks along actively and, last year, raised over ú30,000, all for local causes while the Community Workshop does what it can for town/gown relations.[HDNG]RELIGIOUS:[EHDNG][PARA]On campus, there are a Catholic Chaplaincy and Church of the Resurrection (Anglican/Church of Ireland).  Elsewhere, this is a religious town.  You name it, Belfast's got it: Presbyterians; Methodists; Baptists; 7th Day Adventists; Plymouth Brethren; Jews.  There's even a Mormon prayer house.[HDNG]PAID WORK:[EHDNG][PARA]All the usual casual labour, but unemployment is high in Northern Ireland and work can be hard to come by.[PARA][PARA]
