With sport as a big focus, political activity takes a [PARA]back seat, and students have to be tempted to vote with [PARA]incentives like raffles. A bit Women's Institute, but why not? [PARA]Although LSU remains part of NUS, it's pulled out of the [PARA]Leicestershire organisation, preferring to put Loughborough [PARA]students above wider issues.[EITAL][PARA][PARA][ITAL][HDNG]SU FACILITIES:[EHDNG][EITAL][PARA]A general shop (complete, of course, with sports gear section, [PARA]and a 2nd hand bookshop); 4 bars; 2 cafes; pasta and pizza [PARA]place; travel agency; printing facilities; launderette; bookshop [PARA](Dillons); market stalls; 3 banks; an insurance office; photocopier; [PARA]photo booth; games and vending machines; pool tables; juke box; [PARA]meeting rooms; auditorium (cap: seated 450/standing 850) with [PARA]an [ITAL]impressive [EITAL]lighting rig. The Student Community Action group is run by 3 [PARA]permanent staff and a student committee. Its major event each [PARA]year is its multi-cultural festival. Student media includes a [PARA]newspaper financed by the Union, but run independently, and a [PARA]radio station.[HDNG]RELIGIOUS:[EHDNG][PARA]There are religious student clubs and churches in the town.[HDNG]PAID WORK:[EHDNG][PARA][ITAL]Nothing untoward.[EITAL][PARA][PARA]
