The Old English Gentleman actually has a sign saying 'No Students'.[EITAL][PARA][BOLD]Clubs/discos/music venues:[EBOLD] The town's 3 mainstream clubs (Crystals, TJs and Echoes) all compete for student trade on their special student nights. The Performing Arts Centre hosts poetry readings and drama as well.[PARA][BOLD]Cinemas:[EBOLD] The film society shows pics and flicks twice a week (recently, Demolition Man, Jurassic Park, The Firm).[PARA][BOLD]Clubs/discos:[EBOLD] The disco in the Union Building (1,500, ú1.75-ú3) at least once a week [ITAL]gets them hot to trot. [EITAL] haggerHall is used for smaller event and residential halls hold about 2 discos each per term.[PARA][BOLD]Music venues:[EBOLD] The Union Building has recently opened its doors to Urban Species, New Cranes, Honky, Jools Holland, Pele, Bootleg Beatles.[PARA][BOLD]Cabaret: [EBOLD]Weekly cabaret in the Union Building with top rib-ticklers, such as, lately, Jo Brand, Eddie Izzard, Greg Proops.[HDNG]EATING OUT:[EHDNG][PARA]The university offers 7 refectories around the campus, 4 open till 7pm, and the rest for lunch. The Dag Bar does specials, eg pizza, garlic bread and chips for ú1, and the Union-run Purple Onion pizza service is very popular, delivering until midnight, and later at weekends. In town, there are several Indian restaurants ([ITAL]The Mughal is the [EITAL][PUSH]push[EPUSH] [ITAL]fave[EITAL]), and a range of other belly packers including Chinese, veggie, fish and pizza. For late night rumbles, some of the Indians and fast food joints stay open till 2am.
